They do!
First time growing them last year, Nick. I was amazed at how beautiful they are!
Aren't they! It was my first time growing them last year. π
Close up from above of a tulip flower. It has two sets of large, pointed petals. The petals are brilliant white and bright yellow and also have white frilly edges. Below this flower there are green leaves and double-headed peach coloured tulip flowers, also with frilly edges.
As we wait for this spring's bulbs to bloom, I'm continuing to post weekly tulip pictures from previous years to brighten up the timeline.
This week, a closer look at "Lemon Beauty" (the ones in the background are "Brisbane").

A sandy beach. Two sets of boot prints in the sand with a set of German Shepherd paw prints weaving between and beside them. They are all heading towards the camera. Beyond them is a narrow channel of water in the sand, then more sand and the ocean in the distance. There is a line of hills across the horizon, on the other side of Donegal Bay, and cloudy sky above them.

A group of Canada Geese walking from right to left in a park. There are trees and a handful of people in the background.
Today's Bird of the Day alt. prompt is "Long Necks".
Buxton in Derbyshire is a popular tourist destination so it isn't unusual to see groups arrive on minibuses and coaches for walking tours around the town and Pavilion Gardens.

Hi Andrea! Thank you - you too! π
Cheers, Brenda - you too! π
Thanks, Mary π
Thank you π
A mountain track winding downhill through a landscape of grass, bilberry and heather. Further down the track there are some rocky minor summits. In the background to the left, the blue waters of a strait can be seen and the island on the other side of it. On the right there is the open sea, also blue, reflecting the blue sky above. It is a bright sunny day.
Morning, folks, and happy Monday! I hope you all have a great week, wherever it takes you...

Absolutely.
They were all amazing. I really liked the little figure swinging from the light in Elham's! π
Yes, totally agree - and I would have been happy whoever won too. It's such an uplifting show. I'm always in awe of how much talent and creativity the contestants have!
What a finale for Pottery Throwdown - glad I don't have to choose between those three amazing pieces. π
Excellent! Glad to hear it.
I hope things are going well with the kidney disease projects you are working on. ππ

The promotional poster for the 1954 B-movie "Them". The artwork shows terrified people running away from giant ant-like monsters. The poster tagline says, "A horror horde of crawl-and-crush giants clawing out of the earth from mile deep catacombs!"
Just one monster or a horror horde of crawl-and-crush giants clawing out of the earth from mile deep catacombs? π π€
(The shadow looked a bit giant insect-like to me...)
Hope you're doing okay, Nick. It's so difficult to switch off to it all, much as we really need to at least some of the time. Hopefully spring brings you a boost. My first seedlings appeared today after only 6 days! I think my constant staring at their tray must have made them feel under pressure. π

This relatively early but strikingly intense string quartet by Priaulx Rainier is one of several rewarding discoveries on what was one of my favourite new albums of 2025.
