ok who is this and who are the other five of you besides my mom?
(just kidding, my mom doesn't like my music at all)

Currently working on songs for perhaps my most truly EDM album ever....tech house, techno, hard trance, drum'n'bass, and a lot of sounds that I've never really played with musically before. It should be fun when it's all done.
Yes, that's *original* songs. Not remixes. Weird, I know.
dunno about best, but my personal fav off of that album is definitely the Halo Infinite track...but, that's like choosing my favorite kind of dog. which is: possible, but difficult to do.
if you don't know what ocremix is, put it into youtube and go listen to some of the best music you've ever heard
2025 is the year of making music that will see the light of day in 2026, probably
It only took half a year, but I think FL Studio 25 is finally stable on Mac OS. Better late than never. I'd kvetch more, but honestly, free updates is pretty sweet, and the old version has been working great in the interim.
Sounds like we might have an interesting conversation or two whenever we get to actually meet in person! No chance you'll be at PAX West, is there?
pretty much anything from ZUN (composer of the Touhou series) is probably going to have some egregious modulations all over the place.
y'all ever wish that you could just not know some of the stuff you know so that it wasn't your responsibility anymore?
Basically, TIL I'm never getting rid of these Neumann speakers...they just sound TOO GOOD, even in an untreated room, to forgo being able to listen on them.
So I A/B'd it a couple times and yep, the difference was STARK. I called my wife in and started her with the pair of KRKs, and she was like "this sounds good, what are you talking about?" And then I replaced a KRK with a Neumann and she was instantly like "Oh. I get it now." So yeah.
I swapped the Neumanns out for some KRK Rokit5 G4s that I use as bookshelf speakers and played some tunes. Sound "felt" off as I was listening, so I put one Neumann on a stand and had one KRK with it. I couldn't hardly believe what I heard -- the Neumann side felt like it was in 3D instead of 2D.
Story time! I was looking around my studio figuring what I really use and what I can sell. Since I moved everything into a non-sound-treated room, my final mixing gets done on some Slate VSX headphones, and my monitors (Neumann KH120 + a KRK sub) really aren't a critical piece. Or so I thought.
I have not been this excited for a movie announcement in a VERY. LONG. TIME.
Tomรกs is a very good boy
Very upsetting news: ReMixer Level 99 & Vilecat's 5-year-old Xavier has masses in his brain & spine. PLEASE support their GoFundMe at ANY amount you can.

Would you mind taking one moment to please share?
If you get hungry, you should visit my friends at Plan Bee Pizza (food truck). I might even be there slinging pies as well!
As someone who's kinda just made their niche in VGM and never broke into mainstream EDM, what are some of those "rules" that were counterproductive? (I'm a fan of the axiom "you gotta know the rules before you break em" so...)
dude your delivery was already great years ago but this is a new level -- this flow was FORCEFUL.
You might look at a service like EasySong or SongFile. They'll charge you a rate for X number of "download licenses" or whatever it's actually called -- basically, you guesstimate how many you think you'll sell and go from there. EasySong charges about $80 for 500 downloadable sales, for instance.
+1 for Beyerdynamic. I don't wear glasses on the regular but used to wear Gunnar Optiks all the time while on the computer, and my DT880 Pros never felt like a burden while doing so. I've got even bigger, squishier ear pads for em (vs stock) now and those are even more friendly to glasses.
I didn't PLAN on posting two @flexstyle.fyi mixes in a row, but I had a hankering for this song today. Sometimes you just gotta satisfy the craving.
What can I say? Ensuring a diverse roster of daily mixes can produce Hard Times.

This is one of those "if you know, you know" posts. Hits good as a millennial who tried making stuff in FL Studio back in the day, inspired by others.

yeah I'm a fan of my friends and their work so what
"huh, so that's what happens when you don't overthink it because you don't know what you're doing...."
always follow the rules of mixing
unless your mix sounds better when you break them
then break the rules of mixing
