I feel all such decisions in the end boil down to the unit economics. Everything cost can be traced back to the CAC or the LTV and till the point that the CAC/LTV is fine , no need to thing about the underlying costs.

True, first it felt like just another protocol, but now with what other amazing people have created over mcp, it is becoming a whole different beast.
The power of mcp is in the ecosystem and what we as devs and tinkerers build on it. Kinda like the internet from back in the days.

Today I used claude with the desktop commander mcp to reorganize my whole obsidian knowledge base with a single prompt.
What a feeling ! Feels like a superpower.
