First thought, long horizontal main navigation. If it wraps, style slightly different. I think that gets into recursive loops thought. If it was a container query and I could style the wrapped elements differently that would be great.
I ran with this making a dialog version, took more time than I'd admit to figure out how to get it to grow equally on all sides and not have accumulated animation artifacts. Thanks for the inspiration and write up! I've been wanting an effect like this for a while.
