I'm always surprised by claims of their alleged lack of commitment.
It likely stems from occasional clumsy communication and sparse documentation. But as a longtime user, I've seen them providing migration paths to keep everyone on board.
Now, Shopify backs them, with a full team maintaining RR.

X screenshot of a Ryan Florence (remix co-creator) tweet date from May 23th 2025 at 4.27pm: « I pushed a branch I didn't mean to with a draft post from over a month ago to our website repo It didn't say exactly what we want to say yet (its old), and definitely not how we wanted to say it (was a draft) You can disregard it, but we do have a related post very coming soon »
X conversation screenshot from 21th Dec. 2024 Kenn Ejima: Wait, Remix v3 planned? MJ (remix co-creator): Of course. You didn't think I was just gonna let it die, did you? 😅 Kenn Ejima: I’m confused - my understanding was that RR7 is Remix 3 and the next version of Remix will be v4. Do you have a plan to incorporate RR7 back to Remix and launch as v3? Would it be in 2025? I think many devs in the community want to know the roadmap! MJ: I don't have any further plans to work on RR v7. I'm personally done with that project. Remix v3 is just something I've been calling it internally. Since we haven't released a v3 yet, it would make sense to publish the next version of Remix as v3.
Additional context for people passing through:
* the draft is obsolete and an official communication is expected within an unforseable future
* Remix v3 is an entirely new project which has nothing to do which Remix v2 & React-Router 7
My favorite detail about the shop: how the R logo turns into Remix while scrolling the page👌

At Prose, we’ve been relying on a custom script leveraging the ESLint Node.js API to achieve similar behavior until now.
Very cool to see such a feature getting embedded directly into @eslint.org !
Truly impressive
