TFW you are trying to internalize the need to maintain the initiative through aggression.
Several of the guns -- the BR33, Magnum, and V11 -- feel like direct ports of faves from Halo, which is nice. I'm not sure if the gameplay is unique enough to get people who are already comfortable with Tarkov or something to move, but there's a lot cool Bungie storytelling that compels me.

I'm enjoying Marathon a lot -- approaching it as a roguelite deathmatch has clarified the entire experience for me. Every time I've died it's been for a Reason: timidity when I should have been aggressive, recklessness when I should have been careful, greed, bad positioning, and panic.

It seems to be a self-reinforcing cycle. I don't think you can be impressed by what these things produce if you have any understanding of or respect for it. They can only make Content.
I only played solo and had fun, but I don't think that's typical. Everyone says full squads are really great though, and that's almost certainly the only way to do the end game content.
It feels great to play and I think will probably slot really cleanly into the roguelite “I want to play a game in 20 minute intervals” mode. Gear is extremely disposable but I will probably have a thermal scope in my vault that is just for looking at.
