r/analytics β’ IOh We just found out our AI has been making up analytics data for 3 months and I'm gonna throw up. Support So we've been using an Al agent since November to answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations, everyone loved it. I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this entire time. Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing plausible sounding percentages. I only caught it by accident when someone asked me to double check something. I started digging, and holy shit, it's bad.

You would think a colorful game like Keeper would loose a lot going black & white, but this version has been tuned by @leepetty.bsky.social himself so it really highlights the drama. (As well as his love for AC/DC.)
As promised I recorded the creation of a morph (from scratch) using the tech we developed for Keeper. In about an hour I show how we capture the βEssenceβ of meshes, blend between them, and spice things up with spatial warps.

This illustrates the full process of capturing the "Essence" of a mesh to be used in a morph. The distance field is retrieved and then the mesh is projected onto the cube-shaped "screen" in order to pack its surface properties into two cubemaps.

I wrote a neat morph system for Keeper and hopefully I can share a bit more about it in the future. This particular morph was an experiment using symmetry that didn't make it into the game in the end.
So excited for people to finally get to experience this! Proud to have been a part of bringing this vision to life.

An old and crumbling Lighthouse stands upright on four strange, tendril-esque legs, its customary beam of light shines into a hazy orange-green sky.
