I respect everyone who is still pushing on them and fighting, I do think it is important to continue to loudly voice these concerns and not let companies get away with choices like this. But in the end, I think finding alternatives and diversifying how we communicate is the only real path forward.

I feel like all Discord has learned from the backlash is that they need to be more subtle about how and to whom they're selling your data in the future.

Especially after the IPO, they're not going to decide to stop profiting off your personal data out of the goodness of their hearts.

The homie @rahkfumbles.bsky.social (who you should go follow) surprised me with this piece on Christmas.

Just survived another round of layoffs. Lost some people I really liked this time, as well as a member of my team. Real depressing way to start my week but at least I still have my job, I guess.

Over the years, I've played almost ever MMO I could get my hands on lol. My favorites are probably FFXIV, Ragnarok, Lord of the Rings Online, Mabinogi, and ESO, though I'm not keeping up on all of them right now.

I shit you not, we just had a quick meeting at work, wrapped up in 9 minutes with next steps established. My boss joins at the 10 minute mark, surprised that he missed it, and then messages me and asks me for a full text recap. Absolutely infuriating behavior.
