Three Americans dead and Trump’s UN Ambassador waves it off with some bullshit jingoism. From the people who wailed about Benghazi for a decade. Absolute soulless ghouls.

Swapna providing the highlights of Isaacman's presser.

tl;dr: Artemis III descoped to a LEO test of human landing systems, goal is to launch SLS faster. Higher mission/Moon landing cadence.

My Take: This is not unexpected and I give him props for doing this.

If you're a Floridian, particularly a Floridian who may disagree with a far right state government, you really need to read this article and find out what Florida legislators are trying to pass into law.

So far, Democratic lawmakers aren't offering much resistance.

Colbert Doesn’t Give an FCC About Calling Out CBS

Stephen Colbert says he was told by CBS lawyers "in no uncertain terms" that he could not have Texas State Rep. James Talarico on his program.

"Because my network clearly doesn't want us to talk about this, let's talk about this."

Color photograph of a huge black mound in a snowy landscape red and orange lava is Flowing down from the mound. This is an aerial view and so we see dozens of people around the eruption is a very slow eruption in the lava is moving very slowly and so the people are forming a ring approximately 10 yards away from the lava flow as close as you can get without the heat becoming a big problem

It feels like geosci conferences are a bubble about to burst. Inflation and virtual access have made them obscenely expensive, non-US folks don’t want to travel here, USRA just F’ed up LPSC, gov employee travel to them is highly restricted. IDK if/how this changes but it feels unsustainable

Earth-size planet spotted with yearlong orbit Long-overlooked Kepler signal discovered by citizen scientists reveals promising world worth a closer look

New planet just dropped and it

1) is almost exactly Earth-sized

2) has a year that's almost exactly 1 Earth year.

3) orbits a star that is not a πŸ’’temperamental little shit M-dwarf πŸ’’but is instead a 🧑 good orange boi 🧑

I’m not ready to give up on LPSC. Though perhaps more of a long shot, I would rather see AGU, GSA, and/or The Planetary Society take over management of LSPC. I strongly suspect trying to move to a meeting like DPS would splinter the community.
