bumping this post in wake of Bulls winning 2 of 3 with Collin Sexton playing 35 minutes a night
it's not that the front office is conflicting 'direction' with Billy Donovan, they aren't telling Donovan a direction at all!
www.blogabull.com/p/confirmed-...
fun hypothetical is to think of what teams Giddey and Buzelis will be producing off the bench for in 2 years
cool that ex-Bulls are thriving, but telling that they are thriving as bench players on good teams versus being 'the core' of The Bulls
So far in March: Bulls beat the Bucks with a 27-0 run, Bulls' garbage time unit almost pulls off a 19-point comeback in last 5ish minutes vs. Thunder, extremely undermanned Bulls beat Suns on road behind Collin Sexton's best game of the season and the worst Suns game of the season. We are BACK!
Bulls opponent roster snapshot: Phoenix Suns
no Mark Williams is big for them. No clue if Bulls are playing Giddey+Matas or not, they don't follow logic so we can't really be sure of anything until Dr. Donovan pontificates pre-game www.blogabull.com/p/confirmed-...
Reminder Bulls (rebuilding!) traded down in 2nd round for cash and drafted someone 3 years older who currently can't play over Nick Richards
Celtics haters, take comfort in Vuc's loser energy
The Bulls may be in a rebuilding "stage", but they aren't telling Billy Donovan that
www.blogabull.com/p/confirmed-...
pathetic roster management by the Bulls for their 2-way spots. They are playing out the string and not using these for short-term minutes (not that Billy would ever...) or long-term upside.
Instead it's three non-prospects whose best quality is their built in online fanbases?
NEW POST! Most teams have an organizational philosophy or direction that's at least logically following current circumstances.
Not the Bulls. The front office is rebuilding, but letting the coach operate gun for the play-in

OKC is resting nearly everyone versus the Bulls. So get familiar with the back half of their roster -> substack.com/profile/3012...
Matas wouldn't have played late last season either if not for all the injuries.
So, uh...take your time, Pat.
Funny to see NBC pumping up 90s nostalgia especially leading into their retro broadcast, and everyone agrees for the betterment of basketball fans everywhere that the Chicago Bulls are not involved
Josh Giddey with a 20-point triple-double with red-hot 3-point shooting? March is here!
Billy running basically an 8-man rotation today while pushing Sexton hard and mothballing Dilly is quite something. At least Patβs injury is basically forcing Leonard Miller minutes, and it seems he might be okay!
I see the league didn't cancel Bulls-Bucks, merely shifted it to the afternoon
Bucks post-deadline roster snapshot! substack.com/profile/3012...
But I did see the Bulls put effort in a Yuki Kawamura sizzle reel for a CHSN promo
Reminder the Bulls, in a rebuilding 'stage', have 2 two-way spots still occupied by non prospects serving as minor league circus acts. They have an active roster spot occupied by an injured Zach Collins.
Bulls simply do not try very hard, on top of being bad at what they do try.
Billy has said he doesn't mind rebuilding, but wants to know what the plan is. And we know AK can't articulate a coherent plan. Just looking at their options it is hopeless from Billy's perspective, they could stun in RFA and not be much better...even if they win lottery it's a 19 year old coming in
I think there's a non-zero chance Billy resigns before the end of the year, especially because he has such a hold over AK and Reinsdorf they'll pay a lot of his contract anyway
This is one of the worst Bulls games I've seen (full disclosure, I don't watch many games when they are eliminated from relevance...usually January lately)
now with Pat Williams and Jalen Smith out extended time, even more reason
::Billy Donovan bursts through wall:: "Ima play four guards"
when another tribute night unexpectedly falls in your lap (Bulls hosting Grizzlies March 16th)
oh no, AK and Billy Donovan's greatest fear of a 'losing mentality' seeping in. Shocking that even their doofus goals (do the Pistons care that they tanked?) can't be achieved.
Looks like a decent crowd as always, but still not nearly as much fan interest as it would if team run merely competently (and still cheaply!)
Anyway, I'd bet most non-patron fans are more interested in another game: Ayo versus Portland pick conveying
Career high 32 tonight. It's a low bar, but hopefully Buzelis can progress to level of "taking the reigns on a dogshit team playing out the string"
Coby White is βprobableβ to make his Hornets debut against the Bulls on Tuesday.
Bulls potentially conveyed Portland pick alert:
