I want translators to actually be able to do their jobs! MT erases the nuance of language, culture, context, etc. I want companies to want the best, not slop because that’s what’s cheapest and quickest. It makes doing my job feel like a negative impact, but I’ve no choice in the matter. 😭

I wish translation companies and their customers would get this through their thick skulls. (Employee of a TR company, engineer.) The focus on MT/AI is so so heavy and I’m forced to interact with AI like MT and ChatGPT as a company moneymaking goal. I don’t want to help make just “passable” TR.
