Really curious (in a bad way) how the war in Iran would affect the war in Ukraine. Ofc skyrocketing oil/gas prices are very good for Russia, as is American distraction, but also the inertia of its previous stance demands Russia to do stuff like this potentially putting a wedge between it and the US:
This is a bad argument also because no one's children are in the military against their own will. This war is very bad and criminal for many other reasons, there is simply no need to necessarily stitch it to the omnicause.
The strongest Blue Labour soldier is a spiritual Blairite, it's over.
Why do you use an expensive air conditioned excavator instead of shoveling dirt in the heat? Do you even like construction?
Fair point, in my defence in Canada it's Alberta.
Renewables are good. UK not fucking it up for a change.
The dog gets electrocuted by both of them somehow.
(obviously it is never going to go away complete and the chemistry industry depends on it as well, but it must become just another resource among many and not something that has its second order effect tentacles in every pie)
Oil and gas as major sources of energy just can't die soon enough, every single major exporter apart from Norway is a batshit crazy country (and that includes the US).
Not being at their mercy is a bigger incentive for decarbonisation than the climate change.
"Get ready to learn Chinese, buddy!"
"This is a disgrace"
More so for the right, but also for the left, the definition of working class is mainly cultural and very arbitrary because it is effectively gerrymandered to form a group that shares your ideas about social order.
And it's because both believe working class person's beliefs are immune to criticism
Which is where there main problem is. There is nothing inherently bad with being working class, but there is nothing inherently good either. Your ideas don't suddenly become "the voice of truth" if you identify as such (they might be like that for other reasons though).

In "objective" Marxist sense working class is determined by the relationship with the means of production, and it is wildly disconnected from actual outcomes today, as a multinational CEO would be working class and a self-employed hairdresser would be outside of it.
there are like 50 people in the country who want the UK to get involved in the Iran War, one of them is Kemi Badenoch, one of them is Nigel Farage, and the other 48 are newspaper columnists
But of course, this is the reality of neutral countries.
In my area I saw an old man in a maga hat and a t-shirt reading "you missed, both!" and a picture of Trump after he got shot at.
But it's Bexley so the only surprising thing is that there aren't more people like him on the streets.
Appreciate that you are staying calm, but I have run out of gas and have already explained my perspective as a parent of a non-verbal child. I don't think I can say anything else in addition to that.
No, it is a long 'intellectual tradition' going back into the Tsar era that continuously reinvents itself taking a slightly different angle.
Going through the end of financial year emails and noticed that our water bill has more than doubled in the last 5 years (we don't have a meter so it isn't due to increased consumption).
I cannot wait for the insights on this! He's going to:
1. Sample some local street food.
2. Ride a train.
3. Visit a temple.
4. Not mention the pogroms that the serving Prime Minister presided over.
5. Smile at some elephants.
6. Top up his kids' private school fees.
7. Say "India is changing".
Not "plenty", a small share only.
Crazy how you would put "autism" in your bio and consider a suggestion that under the current definition its symptoms may be mild enough to be non-consequential offensive, but also immediatley object if someone suggests its symptoms may be debilitating.
That new MacBook Neo feels like a killer option for $600 they ask for it. A metal laptop that would remain reasonably capable for the next 10 years, in a great metal shell and enormous battery life?
No reason to buy any other consumer laptop (unless you want to run Linux lol).
"Silence, parent, an American porn addict has joined the conversation"
Where would you draw the line then. Let me guess, somewhere after where you are on that spectrum, not before that spot.
I get it, it is a sensitive topic because you see it as a personal attack on yourself and your identity (which is exactly my point, so thanks for proving it).
What's wrong with "everyone's a bit autistic" if autism is an endless spectrum and doubting it is "hostility towards autistic/neurodivergent people"?
Did you forget to respond to my question, or was it intentional?
