Said a different way, nuance requires a level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and analytical thinking that I've just accepted most people aren't capable of. Society in general (and social media specifically) seems to train it out of people.

My constant nightmare as an autistic person is being on social media and frequently wanting to dive in to express the nuance of a situation, but I almost never do. Most people have no interest in nuance because they just want to FEEL about a topic, not think about it.
Fair. I wish I could feel that way about it.
Anyone else skipping the game because they can't stand to see Larkin's fucking face right now? Or just me?
This whole US Men's Hockey shit is just adding yet another thing to be depressed and disheartened about. Especially how many fans are saying things like "everyone would have laughed awkwardly". And they're probably right. Most people lack the moral courage for the bare minimum.
I hope Larkin gets booed. If I lived in detroit I'd make sure I'm at that first home game so I could throw my son's Larkin t-shirt onto the ice. Instead it went into the trash. That man is not a role model.
@vicmmic.bsky.social Genuinely, I would love to see you and Brennan and anyone else who wants to do a Dropout show/segment just talking about improv or giving quick improv tips/lessons. On top of being hilarious, your Adventuring Academy episode provided great insight into comedy as a discipline.
The whole ipad sequence was the hardest I've laughed in a while. I just love Vic and Brennan's comedic instincts. Sitting there in silence for a minute while the timout happens was just top tier comedy.
Boy I really didn't need a stark reminder of how disgusting the current Regime is 10 minutes after watching US win gold... but there it is. Someone who has no business being there inserting themselves into a moment that has nothing to do with them.
It's wild to me that people with absurd amounts of money use it for hateful things. If I had that kind of money, (in addition to doing charity work), I'd be doing silly things like begging @brennanleemulligan.bsky.social to let me pay him money to teach me improv.
Really enjoying Wonder Man so far. It's very patient and understated and the performances are excellent. For a lot of it you forget you're watching something about super powers.
I also found out there's a chain that's just called Tortilla. I don't know what to do with this information.

Last call: I'm looking to speak with Mississippi voters who have had trouble voting due to unexpected polling place changes or due to errors with the polling place locator sending them to the wrong location on Election Day.
Time is a flat circle.
I was already radicalized before I learned about it but reading about the Tulsa Massacre for the first time was a real "just when I thought I couldn't be surprised anymore..."
Absolutely. I may wish I was in a more important industry, but at least my job isn't working on something that's bad for democracy and humanity.
A tale as old as time. Not sure if they're still around but I remember dozens of those "buy this webinar to learn how to make money with websites" where the webinar was $200 and the websites were just dozens of junk sites like "jokes.com" style useless bs.
I hope there's also a plan to sue them. I can't fathom how this was even legal.
Autistic anxiety is making me second guess myself here (though it sounds like you already decided to skip) but for anyone else. I'm genuinely not sure if language counts as sexual violence or if you just meant SA. There's some words used that are specifically used toward women in the scene.
Not trying to talk you out of skipping, but the scene in question isn't sexual violence, if that makes any difference. She's a puppeteer and her show can vaguely be construed as treason and the antagonist injures her hand.
I didn't realize David Duke was running dating seminars.
I mean the audacity to do that as flirting regardless of the location but AT WORK. Wild.
To flirt?! The hell...
Media literacy sure has fallen far if this person saw a video that said "Hey, here's an example of racism. Don't do this." and their immediate reaction was "stop making me feel bad for being white!"
I'm also genuinely confused about what they're even talking about. I don't remember ever having to sit through a "here's why you should feel bad as a white person" during any corporate training. It was just your standard "don't be racist, don't be sexist, don't harass your coworkers" stuff.
You are a feckless excuse for a leader and we'll all be better off when you retire from congress. Let someone who actually cares about the American people more than subsidizing genocide take your place. Shame on you, sir. Not that those words mean anything to you.
For anyone tempted to re-examine the Neil Gaiman situation after the so-called "investigative journalist" who looked into it... a friendly reminder. The shit he fully admitted to is enough to cancel him.
2/3 of these suggests it might be a musical episode... hm
Hey that's not fair... some of them are also suggesting better training so they're more efficient in violating our rights.
