Someone forgot what the hell the point of the bill was
Someone forgot what the hell the point of the bill was
Yeah, see my original reply.
1. Was the model in question created to generate revenue from users - through data or ads? Or, is it meant to get them hooked?
2. Is the use of that model to replace human jobs, even when the model's not ready, just because it saves $$?
OR
1. Is it being used as a tool?
Again, think abt where that's coming from.
Is the view "here's a helpful technology" or "here's a way for more profit"?
AI can help, can be used for good -- capitalism makes it not. imo it's not "trust" in bsky nor AI, it's "is this decision rooted in capitalism?" and in this case - not really?
disclaimer, I haven't watched your video! Just an offhand thought about this one post
I think the bigger issue is mostly I-5 being used as a regional connector, rather than its service to Seattle Downtown itself.
I can see a world where it bypasses downtown entirely, all exits removed, fully lidded.
But to remove it would mean adding so much capacity on 405/99/etc. for regional.
The point of Paul's thread definitely reads to me as "We see AI as something that could help us, but we're not going to change how we make decisions and QA test just because we have a new tool"
There's good reason for this.
In most companies, management aren't programmers.
So instead of seeing AI as a sometimes-helpful tool, it is seen entirely and purely as an efficiency improver by management.
When in reality... things can take just as long with AI. Less staff, less time, worse work.
(I agree that Mending should probably stay, given how useful it is for the scale of builds people make nowadays. And I agree that it's hard to balance, given how easy it is to make a high-XP farm nowadays. But still worth a thought about what the "alternative" is to mending)
I think it's valuable, but also plays into difficulty/balance discussions.
For example: 30(+!) levels to re-enchant a new tool, plus a resource cost.. vs Mending, which takes fewer levels and doesn't have the cost.
It becomes a runaway for using Mending vs creating a new tool, rather than balanced.
I mean yeah, the way they figure it out is by phasing the projects. Bonds would have allowed them to proceed as planned
Imagine if we had a legislature that cared?
Instead, we have bills with poison pills, a *eliminated* forestry industry, bonds for highways, and none for trains.
And with that crapjob done, the legislature goes on vacation for the rest of the year, and we'll still pay them for it.
Welp. I can only assume this means the 4 line is dead, everett Link is dead (phased to boeing), and Ballard Link is dead (phased to seattle center link or something).
Devastating.
😬😬😬
🤞
Overall effect
RTA exemption effect
POF district exclusion from funds
It was a genuine question, cuz I don't know if that amendment passed or not
But >>>
With a poison pill from Liias that basically kills KTFF and cripples KCWT??
I have the hot take that we need to restrict single occupant vehicles more, rather than increasing rideshare prices ABOVE current (already 2x anywhere else in the country).
Rideshare is used incredibly often to fill in the gaps in public transit, and needs to be treated as essential.
It's not even old, is the thing! We have churches built in the 1700s in NY, and here things from 2001 count as "historic" 😬
🙏🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞
Wow 😮 major flexibility, no wonder westlake center's finances are struggling. Retailers leaving and those who stayed aren't paying
😬😬😬 This is the only year it can really pass
Definitely B! More control for me, especially if I know what's going to happen once I push the button and transfer.
See bottom - rental housing blueprint v3.0
All I can do is laugh.
We are so screwed, we're never building enough housing within city limits 😅
Everywhere else is easier to build and has upzoned just as high, if not higher, with even less convoluted (read: more flexible) codes.
Seattle's midrise capacity no longer makes it special.
Their actions do not align with their words. And their words do not align with reality.
Words: We support transit and want it in kirkland.
Reality: Delays, permitting headaches, S Kirkland termination... Low ridership, misreading the proposal, etc....
If 'Kirkland needs light rail'... show it.
Our legislature needs a comprehensive overhaul. The timings of governance are incompatible with modern society and the state is not keeping up with our needs.
This is great. Kirkland will never.
Our legislative system is so deeply frustrating
Thank you ☺️
Sorry if dumb -- is it not subject to the "must be scheduled before Wednesday since it's an opposite-chamber bill"? Or did last week's hearing resolve that?
We need an easier legislative process to track 😭😭😭
