It was on at 7 PM on Sundays as an alternative to The Wonderful World of Color, so definitely a pitch to kids and families.
I love this movie AND the soundtrack! So excellent choice.
I wrote this!
Comic strip: Nancy picks a can in a supermarket from the bottom of a stack.
Or until Nancy stops by
To my delight, while the sleeve is pretty worn, the disc itself is practically pristine. If it's not the original pressing it's very close to it. It (and Ella) sound amazing!
Now Playing: She Bop (12" remix single) by Cyndi Lauper (Portrait, 1984)
I'm pretty sure this song is about that carnival game where you have to whack moles. Isn't that right, Miz Cyndi?

Don't they really
Moovin' right along.
I think it was a peach fritter!
Shelly and Bully have donuts.
You can have one of mine!
Now Playing: Ella Swings Lightly by Ella Fitzgerald (Verve, 1958)
That's the same way I swing too, Miz Fitzgerald, especially at the playground where Buns Meany and his gang hang out.

You are correct! Thanks for the correction. I misremembered.
Oh true! So many woodland animals, but still needs a bespectacled rabbit!
A photo of Bully the Little Stuffed Bull accompanied by the text "It is Friday, my dudes."
Jim Henson's Star Trek Babies.
Baby Nyota is ADORABLE.
Star Trek Log Seven.
"The Counter-Clock Incident" did it first!
Alan Dean Foster was skeptical enough to retcon that all as being influenced by a Q-type alien when he novelized that episode!
Louis is a maestro of sCAT music!
Hmmm, could be (and a more likely name). If so, her "d" is almost two characters.
Cover of the Louis Prima album "The Call of the Wildest" with Louis singing to a moose [head].
CAPITOL RECORDS EXECUTIVE: We need to set up a photo session for your next album cover, Louis. What we're thinking is you on a darkened stage in a nice suit, singing with Keely at a big microphone...
LOUIS PRIMA: Hell no! Sam, boys...bring in the moose head!
(GREATEST ALBUM COVER EVER!)
Reneรฉ Manalel.
Thank you, Reneรฉ Manalel, for keeping this album in pristine condition so I could have it someday.
A cartoon of Keely Smith.
My mental canon: Keely Smith is the grown-up Nancy Ritz and Louis Prima is Sluggo.
Back cover of The Call of the Wildest! album cover.
I have always been sad that Louis and Keely didn't have their own radio show (like Phil Harris and Alice Faye) but although they'd been performing for years, their real rise in huge popularity came at the end of radio's Golden Age, didn't it?
Now Playing: The Call of the Wildest by Louis Prima, with Keely Smith, Sam Butera and the Witnesses (Capitol, 1957)
Is that or is that not THE GREATEST ALBUM COVER IN HISTORY?!?

I kind of imagined she had a light bee, but it itself was photonic or holographic.
"Well then what makes the holographic light bee?"
Uh uh uh, you can't fool me. It's holographic light bees all the way down.
Jubilee, the white and black cat, screams really loud. (Actually she's just yawning.)
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Wait, strike that, reverse it!
