Rep. Golden invites Maine fisherman to testify to House Natural Resources Committee YouTube video by Congressman Jared Golden

I'm always fighting for Maine fishermen to have a seat at the table, so I invited Dustin Delano, chief operating officer of NEFSA, to testify to the Natural Resources Committee.

Pregnancy and childbirth are normal. So insurance should treat it like any other essential care and fully cover it.

My new bipartisan bill would eliminate cost-sharing for maternity care β€” making it easier for Mainers to start and grow their families without fear of huge medical bills or debt.

Foreign money shouldn't be able to crowd out the voices of Americans in state and local elections, but that’s exactly what current campaign finance laws allow.

My bipartisan bill with Rep. Fitzpatrick would make Maine's ban on foreign donations to ballot initiatives the law of the land.

Dear Mainer: DΓ©jΓ  Vu and the House GOP’s Reckless Budget Bill Health care cuts, tax breaks for the rich, and a ballooning debt: We’ve been here before

I decided to run for Congress in 2018 because I saw lawmakers try to repeal the Affordable Care Act and shift the tax code in favor of the wealthy β€” all while blowing up the national debt.

I didn't like it then, and I can't stand the new effort today:

Prior generations ensured the federal lands managed by the National Park Service were protected for us. Now it’s our turn to step up.

I'm backing the Save our Parks Act to reinstate any National Park employees targeted by recent mass layoffs β€” and to maintain an adequate workforce moving forward.

I'm glad the President's recent executive order acknowledged how Maine lobstermen have been under siege against federal mismanagement, namely by the use of incomplete and biased studies to justify catastrophic regulations.

Better rulemaking requires working with β€” not against β€” fishermen.

Since the founding of our country, more than a million brave men and women have sacrificed their lives to defend the idea of America.

I’m spending today thinking about them β€” as well as the principles they believed in so deeply.

A young Israeli couple was killed last night outside the Capital Jewish Museum, in an apparent act of murderous antisemitism.

My heart and my prayers go out to the victims and their families, their colleagues at the Israeli embassy, and all those grieving this loss.

Golden votes against GOP’s reckless budget bill WASHINGTON β€” Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) this morning voted against the GOP’s budget reconciliation bill, which would take health care away from millions of Americans, further rig the tax code in...

Mainers want more health care, not less. They want a tax code where everyone pays their fair share. And they want Congress to get its fiscal house in order. This bill fails on each front, so it's one of the easiest β€˜no’ votes I’ve taken.

The GOP can't secure the votes to take away health care from millions & cut taxes for the rich. So they’re looking to win over members from rich states by raising the SALT cap.

The biggest winner? The top 1%. Instead of making the bill better, they’re just making it worse.

Arbitrary time limits shouldn't cost Gold Star spouses their survivor benefits, but I've been told directly by Mainers that's exactly what's happening.

So I've written a bipartisan bill to ensure the government lives up to its responsibility to get Gold Star families the full help they deserve.

If the GOP takes health care away from millions of Americans, they should have to reckon with the fallout.

Accountability requires data, so I've introduced an amendment to collect hard figures on how many lose coverage, see health outcomes decline or even die if the GOP's plans become law.

Congressman Golden unfreezes $1.5 million for Auburn-Lewiston airport upgrades Congressman Jared Golden says he's secured more than one-and-a-half million dollars for the Auburn-Lewiston airport.

This project will support the growth and success of Androscoggin County. I’m proud to have worked with the Airport’s leadership and the administration to get these funds flowing.

Each day Congress ignores our soaring national debt, the future of Social Security and Medicare is put at greater risk.

The House GOP’s reconciliation plan could add more than $6 trillion to the national debt β€” a reckless move when we should be shrinking deficits, not growing them.

Congress doesn’t need to take health care away from seniors to fix the national debt β€” let’s start by ending tax breaks for large, multinational corporations that ship jobs overseas.

The House GOP’s reconciliation plan is full of the wrong priorities.

I'm working with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick on this bill & we just crossed a major milestone: With 221 cosponsors and counting, more than half the House has joined on. That includes seven of my House GOP colleagues.

Solidarity across the aisle, proving workers rights have bipartisan support.

SNAP helps put food on the table for one in five Maine kids.

Many of them are at risk of losing those meals under the GOP’s proposed changes to the way SNAP is funded. Congress should protect their access to food, not limit it.

With the highest median age in the country, Maine stands a lot to lose from the House GOP’s proposed changes to Medicaid.

Gutting senior care to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest households and corporations is always a bad idea.

Congress should be protecting health care, not taking it away. We should prioritize middle-class tax relief, not giveaways to those at the top.

We should oppose these plans, go back to the drawing board, & write up a reconciliation bill that puts working people first.

To make matters worse, the plan allows trillions in new borrowing, making our nation’s ballooning national debt even worse and threatening the future stability of critical spending like Medicare and Social Security.

The proposed cuts would take health care away from 14 million Americans. These cuts pay, in part, for the extension of tax cuts tilted in favor of the wealthiest households, plus new tax giveaways for millionaire heirs.

🧡 Several House committees today are considering cuts to the safety net & taxes as part of the reconciliation process. Lots of moving pieces, but this opening offer from the House GOP amounts to a huge giveaway to the wealthy in exchange for making Americans sicker and hungrier.

Hundreds of thousands of Mainers rely on SNAP + Medicaid to afford groceries & health care.

So I’m working to force a vote on the Hands Off Medicaid and SNAP Act β€” a bill blocking cuts to either program in the reconciliation process as the GOP looks for ways to fund tax cuts for the rich.
