Heads up: Avalanche control is scheduled for US 2 Stevens Pass starting at 4AM Friday (1/9). We will hold eastbound traffic at Scenic (milepost 58) while crews complete the mission, which takes between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Westbound US 2 will reopen at 6AM

Visiting US 2 Stevens, hearing multiple reports of cars passing the pilot car line and within 2 minutes see this rude move by an inconsiderate driver doing just that. This isn't just obnoxious, it is unsafe. You are endangering crews and fellow travelers. Just don't.

Hey now, would you look at that! Crews have made progress on road repairs and inspections and US 2 between Skykomish and Stevens Pass Resort will reopen for both directions in a limited capacity by Sunday, Jan. 4.

On Dec. 29, we'll reopen a portion of US 2 to daylight pilot car operations. A pilot car will guide alternating traffic between 6AM-6PM between Stevens Pass and Mill Creek Rd.

FINAL UPDATE: Emergency repairs on SR 410 in Enumclaw have finished after floodwaters damaged a section of the highway near Boise Creek in Enumclaw.

The roadway has reopened in both directions.

FINAL UPDATE SR 167

Do you see what I see? Northbound SR 167 lanes and on-ramps are BACK OPEN in Kent and Auburn.

Floodwater has receded, sandbags have been removed and WSDOT crews have inspected the highway before REOPENING Friday afternoon, Dec. 19.

UPDATE 5: Southbound SR 167 is OPEN between S 212th St in Kent & 15th St NW in Auburn.

Northbound SR 167 remains CLOSED in this area due to water on the roadway.

Our crews are placing sandbags and pumping water off the roadway. There is no ETA for reopening NB SR 167 lanes.

UPDATE 4: SR 410 has reopened between Enumclaw and Greenwater. We reestablished the WB lane for limited, single-lane access, controlled by temporary traffic signals that will alternate EB & WB. This is to safely manage essential movement while protecting the damaged roadway.

UPDATE 3: SB SR 167 has reopened in Kent and Auburn.

Northbound SR 167 & multiple ramps remain closed btwn S 212th St and 15th St NW (mp 16-22) w/ water on the road.

Our crews worked throughout the weekend to reopen the SB lanes. Work continues to redirect water off NB lanes.

The right lane on southbound SR 169 in Renton is closed Saturday evening, Dec. 13, due to rising water in the Cedar River.

Several roads across western WA reopened today. That's the good news.

But we're still seeing water & debris in multiple places and ongoing road closures.

The ground remains saturated in slide-prone areas.

5. Take it slow and stay safe out there. It looks like most of western Washington will be on flood watch through Friday, which ALSO means an increased risk of landslides and debris slides.

4. The way you drive in heavy rain/flood conditions should look a lot different than how you drive normally. Most importantly: Obey road closure signs and if you can't see the road, DON'T DRIVE THROUGH THE WATER.

3. While we'll share current weather conditions as they relate to impacting travel, your best bet for weather forecasts or weather safety is the National Weather Service or another local weather service.
