Oh no not the guy. I was getting 404 errors when clicking the “progress to next thing” buttons at the bottom of the docs and it looked like sections of the destination url had been duplicated, hinting at some sort of issue where urls were being appended instead of replaced. But now I can’t replicate

Checking out Tanstack Start for the first time and the routing in their docs is broken 😭 should I take this as a sign?

If I have to log into your social media platform just to see a post that was linked somewhere else, I'm leaving immediately.
Even if I have an account for your platform, i don't have that kind of energy.

Assumptions: you're a celebrity, you go outside 1x/day on average, you approve 3 fan selfies per outing, 1/3 of them post the pic online, you stumble upon 10% of them, you hate 70% of the pictures you're in
Conclusion: you stumble upon an unflattering picture that you posed for every two weeks

I want to clarify I'm not trying to say "just do freelance". It doesn't work for everyone and it doesn't come easy. It took me 10 years of effort to get to a point where I could risk freelancing full time. I also happen to work in a field where I only need to find 1-3 clients a year to be successful

This is why freelance has worked best for me. I can get in 50-60 hours a week without even trying as long as I can throw in a few hours at 2 am and 11am and 3pm etc etc. If you force me to sit in your office m-f 9-5, you're lucky if you get half of my time.

(3/3) - Failures on the front end can make you look bad to your users. Failures on the back end can make you look bad on the news.

(2/?) - On the front end, you’re suddenly confronted with dynamic styling, screen sizes, granular state management, ui/ux decisions, accessibility, etc. On the back end, you’re suddenly confronted with cors.

(1/?) - At a base level, front end and backend development are essentially the same until you’re suddenly confronted with tasks that go beyond “turn logic to code”, and it’s a bit silly to argue over which is harder or more complex, as they each just require some exposure.

Google needs to make a GitHub competitor called GooGit. Then “did you push your changes?” can become “Did you goog it?”

Every time I hear people in the tech community say positive things about cloudflare, I get a little confused until remind myself it's not the same company the bluescreened all the windows machines last year. Too namesoundalike for my brain.

I had a friend who was working on AI drones for large-scale agricultural management. He talked about it a lot and it sounded insanely capable.
Then the company got a DoD contract and he couldn’t talk about what they were doing anymore.
This was 10 years ago.

Stop worrying about AIs rebelling against humans and start worrying about AIs doing exactly what humans asked of them.

I was really excited to check out Lynx but have been immediately turned off by the limitations of Lynx Explorer. I guess it's on me for expecting a new framework to have the same tooling as Expo, but what has your experience looked like building with Lynx?
