You're absolutely rightβ€”that was not a command post, that was an elementary school. Those were not military leadersβ€”they were schoolchildren. I said the opposite, and that's on me.

an example: it's probably possible right now/soon, to create an AI tool that searches the web for people whose online presence betrays feelings of loneliness/latent mental health issues, finds them, then creates multiple virtual friends or even entire communities, & pushes them to violence

Like AI slop, prediction markets seem to me to be a symbol of moral decay. Even without the allegations of insider trading, few activities are grubbier or more cheapening than gambling on a war.

GOOD NEWS! A UNIVERSAL sarbecovirus vaccine candidate has OFFICIALLY started clinical trials. GBP511 is the FIRST vaccine to reach human testing that is intended to protect against MULTIPLE strains of SARS-CoV-2 as well as other related coronaviruses with the potential to spark dangerous outbreaks.

What privacy? Meta's smart glasses are filming unwitting naked people Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses are a privacy nightmare, with footage of naked people, sensitive information, and violent acts captured and seen by Meta's AI and an army of employees.

Buried lede: Meta sends all your nudes to Kenya where humans annotate it and feed it to AI

This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.

Has he considered not shelving rail projects? Not cutting funding for expansion of public transport could be worth looking at too.

AI writes and deploys the majority of the code at Anthropic which sounds impressive but the service uptime is terrible.

I’d love to see a post-mortem from them about the past few weeks of availability issues.
