Beautiful shiny Shuppet caught in a great ball! She has the ability Frisk and she’s so quick and silly. Soooo the funny thing is I was watching BlueVacktor’s safari week video from last year. I kept meaning to look at Shuppet’s level up moves because I didn’t have a reason to before, but I kept forgetting…until she popped up on my screen. And sure enough, she knows curse. And sure enough? She used it. Called in a friend. I was debating on how mentally prepared I’d have to be to fail her. But luckily she didn’t try to use it again, and caught nicely in the great ball with encounter power active. And, needless to say, I have a Golduck with Soak on my team now. Happy to have you Meli, and how fitting considering today’s Wordle…

First shiny found after making the decision to double up in games for Mimikyu—7436 encounters ends phase 12! It was also my first opportunity to even get Shuppet, and oh Meli is such a gorgeous shade of blue. Severely underestimated how in-awe I would be of my hasty, impetuous, and silly girl.

Shiny Golbat caught in a dusk ball! She’s lonely and likes to run, where better than the cold mountainous caves of Alola?

I am going to have soooo many bats between this and the Mimikyu hunt. Meet Fuji Apple (Laps for short, she likes to run! Don’t ask me how Golbat runs), lonely but no longer alone! After 1899 encounters, she makes her debut.

Shiny Haunter named after The Twins from Phasmophobia, since he appeared shortly after the tenth phase and could be mistaken for just by appearance alone!

The Twins sets out to put Haunter back in the lead (now 5 to the 4 Golbats), a measly 494 encounters. He’s my nature (timid!) and proud of his power, and honestly? As chill as my reactions have been to these guys, I’m happy they decide to stop on by. Their silliness is welcome.

Shiny Haunter named Onryo caught nice and easy in a quick ball. He be levitating. I was only going to do 9 encounters after him for the night to round it out to 7374 encounters so…good timing on his part.

Don’t mind the slightly off catch date (caught this guy right at 11PM but never set my DS clock back). Phase 10 ends at 7365 encounters with the fourth Haunter! He’s Jolly with good endurance, and named after another one of the ghost types from Phasmophobia…one I’d even say is a favorite.

I was thinking to myself the other day that the naming scheme for Glalie would start with the four ghosts from PAC-MAN. It just felt…fitting, since I associate the mega especially with that gaming guy. Blinky is the name of the red ghost, and between the eyes and Valentine’s Day (Happy Valentine’s Day!) I thought it would make the most sense to start there. Blinky is Adamant and hates to lose, so I definitely wouldn’t want to be in a labyrinth with him hunting me down. The ability being inner focus only sells it more, honestly.

And so it begins…
Phase 1 for Drampa is this ice-armored Glalie! 1403 encounters, with a mean winning streak and the adamant nature to track down a certain PAC-MAN.

It’s one of the simpler changes for a shiny, but I’ve always been a fan of the eyes. There’s something about aesthetic changes…

Meet Divv! Brave and somewhat vain, and always at the ready to be a star. I’ll be performing in community theatre this week— and I can only presume by her promptness that she stands for the arts. First encounter of the day…I haven’t had that happen, and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’m just happy I wasn’t too ready to soft reset because if there was ever a time I’d be at risk… I love Pheromosa’s eyes. I love the gradient from white to black of her “outfit.” I think it’s one of the coolest choices Pokémon’s ever made for a shiny, and between this and Minior, I can hope they’ll do more similar experimentations in the future.

So prep for my musical this week has this post a day late— BUT?? 2465 SRs and the FIRST encounter yesterday, Pheromosa was brave enough to show. I. Still wouldn’t believe it if not for the picture and seeing that beautiful gradient for myself. Cameras cannot do her justice, everyone! This is Divv 💜✨

I am so THRILLED to be able to hunt Ultra Beasts! Xurkitree sits (trots?) kindly with me after a measly 1779 resets. This is Waltz! Sassy and mischievous and that beautiful shade of blue strikes with no sign or want of reprieve. They do the wave dance move when they’re happy and light up any room.

I am already so calm to these lovely bats showing up haha. Levi is a level 31 Golbat, caught in a quick ball— perhaps the calm nature matches how I react to these phases now. It’s a bit silly— I thought Haunter was going to be the one I got a bunch of, and while there’s still plenty time for that to be true, Golbat pulls ahead. 4 out of the 9 phases, with the past three bridging the gap

I think there are a lot of bats in this Megamart…6924 encounters for Leviathan (Levi for short, definitely)! The fourth green bat is calm and somewhat vain (I swear I get this characteristic more than any of the others 😭). I think Golbat may be a part of the 7 ate 9 propaganda (phases 7, 8, 9 = bat)

Somewhat vain and timid, and the first of the dragons appears. After two Charjabug, two Graveler, a Mudbray, Dedenne, Togedemaru, and Torkoal…40340 encounters total for the hunt…and caught in my one and only Friend Ball. Vulcan, I love you so so much. Thank you for this journey, and thank you for being a memorable final team member for the Ultra Sun team. First of the Trio DTQs to be set!

I. Cannot. BELIEVE this actually happened. It’s one of those things that I thought would be a joke at most— if I find one of these targets offline, I’d go live right away. But sure enough when I was thinking of calling it a night, Vulcan decides to shine after 13832 encounters. HE’S MY NATURE!!!

That is just my two cents though. Writing can be such a fickle thing to do lol

I think it’s only a *real* issue if you’re waiting for perfection to get it out there or to continue developing it. If there is a concrete way to make a part of it better that’s more than fussing over it, for lack of a better word, it’s good to take the motivation and see where it leads.

So I might be a liiiiiiittle crazy. But once I had the idea I couldn't help myself, so...we shall see what happens!

I won't lie- I was really hoping for a last minute shiny Turtonator before tonight's festivities, but after reaching double odds for phase 9 I thought it best to call it...for 2025. And yeah, I did an awful job at updating this over here...BUT! I did get a bingo which I was not anticipating. 🪐

I dreamed about finding Mimikyu last night…and today found this gal instead. 6097 encounters brings me Limeade! She’s rash and loves to take naps. She’s also what ties the Haunter-Golbat ratio! Who knows what phase 9 will bring…and when?

I feel this so much. I keep wanting to do a big push for the end of the year, but I can never quite do more than my typical.

Oh my goodness that’s right! I’ll try to send good vibes your way. Popplio has a way of making ya feel great when it does appear, and I’m sure it is just a matter of when!

The main one for me is Mimikyu (5%) in Moon and Turtonator (10%) in Ultra Sun— doing Random Encounters and hoping against the odds that one of them shines before the end of the year!

Shiny Golbat caught in a heal ball (my second favorite pokèball, fun fact)! He’s brave and has a sturdy body, which makes sense as he’s another test of my resilience in this path to Mimikyu. I honestly love the shiny Zubat line and it was so pleasant to see after a long stretch with nothing shining in the game. Was watching Gremlin’s Lanakila video so shoutout to that ✨

12727 encounters— phase seven is OVER FOR BOTH HURRAY! Meet Papaya, my second Golbat on this quest, named after a friend of mine’s Crobat from a time’s past (they’re a proper fan of poison types). He’s brave, sturdy, and focused, which…honestly all fits together really well!

Sassy Torkoal with the White Smoke ability. Found shortly after midnight and I LOVE THE COLOR OF HIS SHELL!! It’s one of those things on a shiny that makes me happy for some reason.

Phase 8 appears far quicker than phase 7, 1017 encounters brings yet another new phase…only Elekid and the lovely target Turtonator remain. But oh, I love the shiny for this fire turtle too. Sassy and scatters things often, slow and steady wins the race…Sorbet. So many ssss.

I was honestly hoping a phase for Turtonator would be this little guy, after seeing someone else get him and interact in Refresh…He’s so so cute with so much joy to share with all. Shiny Togedemaru, I’m so happy to run into you today, even if it means I have more of a chance to double up on later phases…

Apparently this little one wants to do the Electrike Slide with another little Pikaclone. 10320 encounters after Dee Dee is the knight of my roundtable Lancelot, who’s relaxed and likes to take plenty of siestas (easily explaining the encounter number. He moves on his own time!)

I managed to remember to take the clip of finding it in my shock and surprise. I was so afraid that it wouldn’t show up in this screen for some reason— I’d been checking the batches in the boxes afterward just in case. I had 20 Cranidos per reset and this was number 15!

Rash Shiny Cranidos capable of taking hits~ named Blais after the fact (something from my game/book universe. hehe). I was hopeful that all my time spent collecting the 20 fossils would prove worth it and that the shiny would appear in the second half— I got my wish ❤️
