They sure don't pay you enough for this incredible stuff you do!
Haha, thanks for the warning! π
And thank you for helping boost awareness! I'm not good at being popular on social media, but I did want to make sure I got photos to prove there were plenty of people showing up demanding change and accountability.
Sorry, the "sub-10Β°F" was accidentally a little misleading. That was supposed to be a hyphen, not a negative sign. So it was only below 10Β°, not below -10Β°. But that's still pretty cold!
Many protesters lined up in front of the Pentacrest.
Many protesters in the Pentacrest.
Protesters holding up signs.
I went to the latest ICE/Trump protest in Iowa City today. Despite sub-10Β°F weather, many showed up.
I wrote about the first year of Trump 2.0, their campaign of terror, and public opinion www.terrain.news/p/one-year-o...
Screenshot from Metroid Prime 4, with Samus standing in front of a motorcycle. There is a text box that says: "You can now ride Vi-O-La. To fully operate the vehicle, driver registration is required."
Biker Samus goes to the DMV.
Iowa stands with our neighbors in Minnesota who are calling for an economic blackout on January 23rd! We say NO ICE in all states. Consider contacting nearby businesses and ask them to hang up the second flyer in this post! These are fourth amendment businesses.
A display from the museum that discusses the decreasing percentage of black-owned farms in the US over the years, much of which is attributed to discriminatory practices of the USDA. The percentage dropped from a peak of 14% in 1910 to a low of 0.9% in 1996. It then grew back to 1.7% by 2012.
In observance of MLK Day, I visited the African American Museum of Iowa, in Cedar Rapids. This display regarding the decreasing percentage of black-owned farms was particularly eye-opening.
Afterward, I found this article with some additional information: investigatemidwest.org/2025/09/02/n...
The irony of requiring students to study American history while at the same time forbidding the teaching of systemic racism and the making of land acknowledgements...
Also, I bet their American government courses will cover our supposed system of checks and balances.
I'm giving freelancing a shot! Appreciate any reposts. On fiverr, my pitch is basically "if you tried to vibe code something and it didn't work, I can help with that".

What - who, me?!!
Especially this one in particular.
Wow - very impressive!
Renee Nicole Good wasn't the first person killed by ICE β but she must be the last.
Protesters gathered in the Iowa City ped mall.
Attended a protest today against the violent and discriminatory actions of ICE.
Impressive
Silksong game completion screen, showing 100% completion with 127 hours and 58 minutes of playtime.
Finally got 100% completion on Silksong!
Nothing says "bliss" like forcing fellow humans to live in tents full of sewage! πππ
Guava "wrapped" - Your Toughest Day. "Let's never do that again."
This is from last year, but it's the weirdest "wrapped" thing I've experienced so far. It's from a health tracking app I use. I haven't seen it pop up in there this year so far - maybe they realized it was in poor taste. π (Fun memories of an ear infection while in a fibromyalgia flare-up...)
It forgot to include Pearson on the list! I was laid off in January after working there for 15 years, and they thoughtfully scheduled my last day of employment on my 40th birthday. (Fortunately, I was able to find another job by the end of April.)
Also, sorry to hear you're unhireable. π’
I hate MS Office with a passion.
I made an ant simulator. Now you've heard of it. Problem solved.

Detailed colored pencil drawing of an American sycamore leaf I found earlier this fall.
I just finished this colored pencil drawing I've been working on the past few days. Really happy with how it turned out.
"Game Completion" stats screen from Silksong, showing 95% completion with a time of 117h 26m 51s.
I finally got the "good" ending in Silksong! Probably gonna look up where to find the remaining stuff at this point...
A cosmic horror with a body somewhat resembling the head of a catfish with eyes on stalks, and squid-like tentacles dangling behind it. It floats among some trippy-looking multicolored clouds. Some of the clouds appear to be some sort of toxic/magical substance that has possibly been expelled from the beast's mouth.
Tried drawing some pretty clouds, got frustrated, pivoted to creating some sort of cosmic horror. Happy accidents? π
Red and green colors in the night sky from an aurora.
An aurora is visible in Iowa right now! π€― (It showed up way brighter in the photo than it looked to my eyeballs, but it was still really cool to see it.)
Four pots setting in my garage: one containing a young mulberry tree, one containing a couple oak seedlings, and two containing ginkgo seeds. Each pot has a soil moisture sensor stuck into it, all of which are connected to a single microcontroller that's plugged into a wall outlet.
A screenshot from my Home Assistant server, with charts showing soil moisture levels (as percentages) over the past seven days for each of the four pots. Each chart has an upward spike at the time when I connected the devices and watered the plants a couple days ago, followed by a gradual decline as the water has been slowly evaporating since then.
Last weekend, I got my plants all set up for overwintering in the garage. To make sure I don't give them too much or too little water, I'm using this soil monitoring device I developed last year, which sends moisture data to my home automation server via Bluetooth: github.com/colececil/au...
Is this a specific airport or all airports?
