I'm always lugging a bunch of camera gear (a backpack that weighs about 50 lbs), so I have to take it extra slow, or it'll be disaster. I'm... a bit of a klutz.

Oh no. The climb back up's not so easy, either.

It's been way too long since I've even been over in that direction. I can't even remember the last time. I rarely get to that corner of the state. Most of the time, I'm up in the northwest corner.

Awww... thanks, Vicky! I used to go exploring a lot more than I do these days (somehow, I used to have so much more free time when I wasn't taking care of a million cats and trying to run a business).

Sayah is especially well-adapted to disappearing in our forest. Her colouring -- a mix of shadowy with patches of very dilute orange -- makes an excellent camouflage.

I'm starting a turkey vulture today. And trying to include more interesting perches, not just boring old wooden posts.

I should mention. The preorder store is open for the Tiny Robots campaign, so if you missed out on the backerkit, you can still secure a set or singles. I over ordered by hopefully less than my usual margin (to account for any damages or losses) but there's still gonna be a few extra 🤖

She's gotten more comfortable with me being there while she eats. Not, like, REALLY comfortable. But MORE comfortable. Just takes a lot of patience and time with ferals.

I sit for 45 minutes to an hour with them in the mornings... watch the kids play. Toss them treats. Let them get used to me.

My Prunus jacquemontii blossoms are just about done here (earliest for my cherries). Same withe the cerasifera. Daffodils are done. Japanese maples are leafing out. Pears. Crabapples. It's mid-Spring. In early March. February showers bring March flowers, they say... or... will have to start saying.

Yeah. I had to dig out the portable AC for the office again. I am not at all pleased. It was in storage for less than 3 months.

I am covered in mosquito bites just from grabbing the food out of the hutch. It's March 5th. And being outdoors is already intolerable. Awesome.

You people who love heat can have it. All of it.
