Anti-Substack Labeler: Substack Funds Nazis

@labeler.antisubstack.fyi

If I follow you, it's because you *don't* post on Substack and I want to support you! This labeler identifies Substack links so you can avoid them. Substack tithes to Nazis. See pinned thread for advice on switching to a new platform!

I know that strategy has some success, so I hope it continues to serve you well! Again, thanks for spreading awareness and let me know if you notice any issues with the labeler 😊

While I definitely appreciate what you're doing, I've often found that people who continue to post on Substack can be sensitive to being called out and may end up blocking you (or the labeler, which does absolutely nothing to prevent them being labeled)
But definitely keep spreading the word Thanks!

Substack is partnered with an app that lets you bet on and therefore profit off of war crimes
Why are you still supporting Substack?

Apologies to all my friends on Substack. I'd gritted my teeth and supported you because I love your work. But Substack's partnership with Polymarket is the last straw for me.

The jetstream1 us east endpoint is not working at the moment so that may have been it

It probably would be a good idea to set up monitoring and alerts for something like number of labels emitted so that if it's been several minutes without any labels, I receive notice of a problem. So that may be my weekend project, if I feel up to it.

27.02.2026 20:56 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Basically the labeler was trying for several hours to connect to a jetstream that was down so it wasn't able to label any posts and I didn't have it set up to try connecting to a different jetstream instance, but also the labeler itself wasn't down so it didn't ping me that there was a problem.

27.02.2026 20:51 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Okay! So looks like the jetstream instance I was using has been having issues. I have updated the labeler code to detect jetstream timeouts and switch jetstream instances. This obviously won't matter if all jetstreams are down but in this case only one seems to be having a problem so...

Assuming you're using @skyware.js.org
Everything is still working but the dev doesn't have plans to continue maintaining it. There are some people in the bluesky api touchers discord who can help if you have issues though!

27.02.2026 19:35 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I'm still getting timeout and 503 errors trying to connect to jetstream1.us-east.bsky.network
Do you know anything more about this?

27.02.2026 19:32 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

FYI having some trouble with the jetstream/firehose timing out constantly since last night. No idea why and trying to troubleshoot.

Currently no as the labeler is fully automated and doesn't run Ozone (bluesky's labeling service) but since I'm currently snowbound I might muck around with trying to implement manual labeling.

Would love to but I'm not set up for manual labeling currently...

Happy to!

Very minor update from your snowbound maintainer: added another url pattern for Substack posts that I noticed wasn't getting caught by the labeler
As always, if you notice a post that isn't labeled, please tag me here or @uncivil.work

Reminding people AGAIN that substack is a nazi bar. And it's not just a guessing game for me. I use @labeler.antisubstack.fyi.

NO NAZIS.

I don't post on Substack because I already have my own site where I post stuff, and have done for 27 years, and because Substack makes a lot of money off Nazis and fascists and I'd really rather not, thanks. I do have an account there but it's to secure my name. It has a cat photo.

New labeler just dropped to remind you not to link to Substack

Can I just say, I'm really loving Ghost. It is such a good platform. Anyone still using Substack should consider moving across. It is pay to play, and it's a different way of working, but the functionality is great and it's so much nicer to use.

Fifteen years ago, I got my dream job writing for MLSsoccer. Last week, that came to an end.

I'm off on my own, and it's time to build something new – with a little help from all of you.

You Should Probably Leave Substack You should probably leave Substack. Here’s why and how.

That's 100% why I created leavesubstack.com -- got tired of re-hashing the points; wanted to make a simple 1-pager.

12.02.2026 04:54 πŸ‘ 768 πŸ” 393 πŸ’¬ 13 πŸ“Œ 34

you know you can have that flagged in advance for you, right? even works on the custom domains you wouldn’t catch.

you will never find my ass in a fucking substack.

12.02.2026 04:21 πŸ‘ 10 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I do not, but if you notice any posts that have managed to slip past, please tag me so I can figure out why! The labeler is fully automated and I find it tends to be very reliable.

Again, no serious organization, politician, or journalist should join Substack in 2026.

I'll give grace to those who were on Substack in its early, pre-mask-off days and those who don't already have a platform, but the best time to leave the Nazi bar was yesterday and the second-best time is now.

02.02.2026 16:43 πŸ‘ 41 πŸ” 12 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 2

Subscribe to this labeler and you'll never be tricked into clicking on a Substack link with a custom domain again

09.02.2026 13:05 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I will never read your substack. I will not share your substack. if you post your substack and I am just learning you have a substack, I will comment, β€œsubstack? really?” or β€œcome on, man” or β€œleave substack.” I will do this periodically until you block me or leave substack

The irrationality of clinging to a sinking platform The Guardian reported today on Substack’s willingness to amplifyβ€”and profit fromβ€”Nazi content. And yet, people launch new blogs on the site daily? There are a few cognitive biases wrapped up in why p...

I'll add another reason to @damon.kiesow.net's list of why people stick with Substack: They are constantly being told, "Don't use this, don't use that." Get off Xitter! Boycott Amazon! Meta's platforms are kind of dubious! At a certain point, folks just tune out. (Note: I'm not on Substack.)
