Growing up on the prairie, of course. As all us ancient people did.

My daughter was demonstrating how she adjusts her umbrella depending on which way the rain is blowing.

Dad: “That sounds like something your mom would do.”

Me: “And [son] holds his umbrella just like you!”

Our 10-year-old took that personally and I had to walk it back. 😅

Oh man, that had to have been traumatizing for those kids… why couldn’t they wait till the mouse’s shift was finished 😅

“You pushed the button last time so remember this time it’s her turn” — never realized how often I would be saying these words while waiting for an elevator with my kids

My son has been annoyed by how slowly his little sister walks to school (he’s a stickler for being on time), so he started inviting her to play tag on the way to drop-off.

We’ve been arriving 10 minutes early ever since.

Our 10-year old has officially out-parented us. #proudparent

Homemade is good!

I console myself with the fact that deluxe Kraft is the cheddar cheese pouch and not the powdered stuff. At least she still has some standards. 😅

My kid only eats mac & cheese if it’s Kraft Deluxe. In the microwaveable cup.

Offer her literally any other mac & cheese and she’ll hit you with a look like, “Don’t even try me. We’ve been over this.”

When the convenience crutch becomes a permanent dependency and now you live here. 🫠

I often remember after I walk out and as soon as I turn around and go back it often flits right back out of my head. 😩

So wise. We will never know.
