I left today’s classified briefing more frustrated and concerned than before.
The burden was on the Trump Administration to make a clear, concise case for their strike on Iran. They failed to do so.
I’m voting yes on Rep. Khanna's War Powers Resolution.
These stories and so many others which I’ve heard during my visits to Delaney Hall and EDC are why I will continue to fight to end the use of privately run, for-profit immigration detention centers and why I will do everything to end ICE.
This comes after Jean Wilson Brutus lost his life while being detained at Delaney Hall.
Waldir Chirinos, a Union County resident, developed a high fever while detained at Delaney Hall. ICE took no action until he suffered a seizure.
At the hospital, he was restrained to his bed. His wife was denied any updates on his condition.

The law is very clear: Members of Congress have a legal right to enter any DHS detention facility to conduct oversight at any time without prior notice.
Thankful for this ruling & will be back at Delaney Hall & EDC again & again to continue our oversight of this Admin.

The IRS improperly shared confidential tax information from thousands of Americans with DHS.
This breach of privacy is unacceptable & why I joined my CHC colleagues to demand answers from Treasury Secretary Bessent & the IRS & for them to notify every affected taxpayer immediately.
No one should feel unsafe going to their place of worship, but that is the atmosphere of fear that this Administration has created for our neighbors.
We will continue to fight to protect our communities, inform our residents of their rights and work to abolish ICE to the end.
And…..I occasionally FaceTime them when I’m with the people who they’ve helped just to let them know we are thinking of them - and always thankful for the work they do. 🫶
