I read a lot of books by Sharon Creech as a kid. Chasing Redbird, Bloomability, and The Wanderer were my favorites.

Snow Geese have arrived in eastern Colorado. Many dead geese also found around the reservoir have succumbed to avian flu. We counted over 100k live birds. Found 100 minimum dead snow geese along beaches. Many more sick birds loitering along the shoreline.

I also never got a book press. I use two elementary school rules and some $1 clamps from harbor freight. Ive just been rebinding all my old spiral bound sketchbooks.
For what it’s worth I think it’s ok to start small and cheap. I was using Elmer’s kids glue, 50 cent paper from craft stores for inside covers, and making book paper with discount fabric and iron on backing.
