Not gonna lie -- This #EduSkyChat filled my heart tonight. I know that there are challenges to digital credentials and the ecosystem at large, but CHEERS to a group of educators sharing their appreciation of a new-version of education and learning! #EduSkyChat

Right? I actually made mini-buttons for an in-person event to scknowledge their compmetencies in real time. It was super cool to see professionals pinning their recognition to their lanyards with big smiles on their faces! #EduSkyChat

I love how that shows their students and families that they're commited to a growth mindset too! #EduSkyChat

I also find that there's confusion around digital credential vocabulary. Which word do you use when? And does it mean what we want it to mean? I worked with IMS Global (Now 1EdTech) back in 2020 to redesign openbadges.org for this exact purpose!! #EduSkyChat

A2: Competency-based learning is just plain EMPOWERING!! It's respectful of skills that our learners bring into our spaces, which is SO important when working with adult learners. #EduSkyChat

I totally agree. Digital Badges (when backed up with verifiable evidence) are incredible powerful parts of telling our professional stories. #EduSkyChat

I've earned and issued open badges in Badgelist, Badgr (now owned by Instructure), and Credly to name a few. It made good sense to choose an issuer that integrated with Canvas since our PL happened in there #EduSkyChat What about you ?
