The game list ran out of words and started looping back around to some earlier puzzles. We added a *ton* more games to prevent this, but some players got repeats before it was fixed.

We'll look into letting you reuse ruled-out letters soon.

Today's puzzle had some people try to guess "figgy," but it was rejected, since it's not on the word list, despite being in the dictionary.

Just added it and redeploying now. 🫡

We moved other a new server earlier tonight!

This was probably seamless for most folks, but apologies if anyone ran into issues.

We now run on @smol.farm's brand new server, College Park (they're named after MARTA stations!)

We will soon have Skyrdle for iOS and Android with all the features you love from the web version (including newer ones like OAuth and color blind mode)!

We currently have a playable alpha that just needs a bit more testing and refinement.

What's your exact issue? This probably has to do with our recent switch to OAuth.

Skyrdle in colorblind mode

Skyrdle now has a colorblind friendly mode!

Hit "Settings" at the bottom and turn it on to turn tiles blue (correctly placed) and orange (present in word, wrong position)

We hope this will make Skyrdle more accessible and fun for even more people!

Good feature suggestions! We're also considering releasing a mobile app too, though it would still be good to make adding the web app to the home screen work properly.

This is all accomplished using highly performant CSS animations

The login button on the soon-to-be-released OAuth flow is *beautiful*

It captures the vibe of a slightly cloudy sky until you hover over it, upon which it switches to a polychromatic shininess

Why should you care?

As it stands now, when you log into Skyrdle, it has full access over all your PDS data.

Going forward, it will only have full access over your scores. It will be able to post on Bluesky your behalf to share emoji grids — but will have no ability to touch existing posts at all.

Skyrdle will be moving to AT Proto OAuth very soon.

What does this mean? No more passwords. Think "Sign in with Google" but Bluesky instead.

Both crunk and trope weren't in the original wordlist. We got what was supposedly a complete list of all 5 letter words from a third-party source that definitely has some omissions.

"Trope" should be a valid guess starting sometime in the next few minutes once the production deployment finishes!

In the future, if a word is in the puzzle list, it will automatically be treated as valid even if for whatever reason it is missing from the main dictionary list.

Also, as of ~10 minutes ago, the broken puzzles should be playable.

We acquired what was supposed to be a list of all 5-letter words in the English dictionary that we are learning the hard way has many omissions.

This caused some recent puzzles to be unsolvable, and we are putting in safeguards to prevent this problem in the future! Our sincere apologies.

Skyrdle is back up and will be moved to more reliable hosting soon!
