Today a coalition of music organisations representing many thousands of artists and music workers has published a letter to BBC Radio Scotland.
Scotland’s music sector needs transparency, consultation and a clear strategy for how Scottish music will be supported.

BBC Scotland Dir Hayley Valentine evidence Scottish Parliament CEEAC committee about the "small number of people unhappy" about BBCRadioScot cuts. 16000 signed a petition for a single show - the biggest since the BBC Bias petition during the referendum (the most divisive moment in recent history).
Creative communities form around a nucleus. A late-night BBC Radio Scotland play by Roddy Hart led to the funding for my first album. 41 people were paid for various jobs in the making.
The creative economy in Scotland needs these music discovery spaces. This is what we lose.

Also forgot to add that when they're talking about their 'huge' playlist - of course this is mostly catalogue music - so suggesting it in the same breath as 'new' Scottish music is misleading. To get a new track onto the station playlist isn't going to be easy.
Worth a watch/listen, questioning the 'evidence' given to the Scottish Parly's Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee by BBC Scotland on revisions to their Scottish music output.
We would add that barely any music is released around Xmas/New Year, so comparing Dec/Jan is daft.
