In the wake of all the lady powerhouses that came out of the Olympics this year, are there any literary agents looking for YA romances with a strong, athletic girl lead? I have a client who wrote a great manuscript and I'd love her to find a home for it.

I noticed this as well when I had dug into it. It's disappointing. It feels like something they're just charging for with nothing really behind it.
That's true! But I also think it's important not to put too much pressure on yourself and your creativity early. Focusing on the finish line instead of on the moment you're in can be harmful to the process!
Assessing the opening pages can help authors know if they are engaging the reader, if the set up is working.
But no one can tell you if the entire (not-yet-written) novel will be publishable. And honestly, the first completed draft likely won't be.

Oh yeah, been there. I had a terrible urologist years ago who left me in the exam room for, I could not, an hour and a half. The staff was fascinated that I was angry when I finally popped out to ask where the hell he was. 😂
It's wild. To be fair, I do absolutely adore the specialist I saw today. He's so good. But he wound up being I think 40 minutes late to the call. 😭
Nothing fascinates me more than doctors requiring patients to show up 15 minutes early than being—at minimum—15–30 minutes late. I have another appointment, sir. 😭

Publishing ebbs and flows. It's all about waiting for the current to change, which it might be.
I may have recently questioned if a character being revealed as alive might take away from the emotional impact of their sacrifice. Which could be construed as "kill them." 😂

I created a cash flow template and walkthrough video for fellow freelance editors. I've been trying to set it up to sell on three different spaces—all are having tech issues right now. I'm not sure if I should take this as something telling me not to do it or what. 😂
