(Picture of a fancy fountain in the middle, it is probably famous and I should know it, but I don't). The walls are closing in on us by joshua trent brown. The cover is a snake coiled om itself hovering above a rocky river. The snake is a muted green on a grey scale background).

First plant has a small flower with eyes and a mouth, next the flower is a skull, then a face, then a blue face crying.. Look at this cool AF cover by @johnchrostek.com! Included also a poetry EP by Ly Faulk. Look close and ya girl is thanked.

Even summarizing a summary has poisoned my soul
I’m just now learning about a Twitter thread regarding the merit of writers who don’t read books.
As such, I’m realizing that yes, Bluesky sucks for promoting things and finding new things, but it does admittedly seem better at snuffing out conversation hells like that one
One of my favorite parts of last night’s election results.
The only Democratic talking point should be: we don’t abandon anyone.
If I end up dying soon, man, at least I got to this
I’m terrified about the dire straits of the world & stressed about being laid off & bringing in less money, but the sun is shining & I’m in Evening House with the door propped open for the first time in months, talking books with good people, and it feels like a miracle compared to much of my life
finally gaining corporeal form after a few months of ghost life

simply unprecedented
Cosmic Meat Explanations put out one of the best prog albums of 1977, couldn't believe my ears hearing that 32 minute track with the electric fiddle and the babbling brook
so bummed I won't be there for this
I was already intrigued about this book, but this is an exciting new wrinkle
Thanks to everyone who shared. I got an order (thank you! 🎉). Feel free to get in touch if you want in, too!
It was a joy working on this book with Trent & Alan (I designed the cover!) As always, @malarkeybooks.bsky.social knows good books & champions them.
A Malarkey book is a thing of raw, heartfelt humanity. Not raw as in unpolished, but organic, unique, three-dimensional writing
Cheers, Trent!!
Oceans are now battlefields
🫂🍻 ayyyy
Holy shit, seven first edition copies left!!!
What future for the novel of the future? What are the bits of SF that might enable it to persist, or help the novel itself survive? How might writers reuse them?
My latest Snap! column for @ancillaryreviewofbooks.org: “SF can formally as well as intellectually contribute to the effort of revival.”
Before this, marathoned Krasznorkhai's SATANTANGO in two days for book club and still kind of wrapped up in that whole grim experience
A book about fate and time and love, where everything is predestined and set in stone and yet the beautiful things linger on in sunlight. Medicine for the acutely aware. Loved it
Finished LITTLE LAZARUS by Michael Bible today, pub'd by @clashbooks.bsky.social. A bittersweet fable of two sad Southern teens whose lives intertwine w/two deeply aware tortoises. Like Twin Peaks Ep. 1 before breaking open w/ an insult fetish billionaire, a seersucker suit brotherhood & much more
