Picture of a circle with a blurry blob inside - it's the Pitchfork album review score which loads really slowly now cause enshittification?
Pitchfork's blur is some BS!
Why should they be any different from the rest of us?
They're going to write books about all the big brain moves of this gang of imbeciles and among them will be "Spending a year trying to kill renewable energy and then launching a war that sends oil prices soaring"
Oh, so now he knows something about current events?
Anything new here?
Do not buy creeptech, do not wear creeptech, and do not tolerate the creeps who do.

Went last night - I liked the double drumming!
It's never about competence.
Pretty sad! Certainly quite different in Europe, though sometimes with special train lines to airports (that connect easily into main lines).
As I said, I'm no seer - but the word 'none' (like the word 'never') sets off my alarm bells. No one knows the future all that well, and things often look clearer in hindsight. We can agree to disagree about whether there are opportunities still to come.
The "history stops here" argument is generally not a winning one. Things change, mistakes are made, opportunities arise.
Many good ideas here about getting rid of big highways that go straight through American cities.
Your line that it's "Interstate not Intercity" is perfect. Totally with you about Portland (my town). Hope I live long enough to see some of this happen. In SF it took an earthquake.
I think it's overly pessimistic to say there are no available niches... while I'm no seer, I believe creative people will find a way. (Which is not to say that I'm optimistic about the overall career opportunities for traditional developers).
I wonder how many dentists will be working at the new ICE concentration camps? Do you think folks detained there will get critical health care?
That reminds me of something Bob Dylan said in 1987!
They call the Department of Defense the Department of War, but then say their war isnβt a war because itβs preemptively defensive.
I know I'm old, but I just don't get the appeal of these effin' "smart glasses" - and this news just makes it all the more problematic.
I wonder if Jesus told Israel to go ahead?
Glad to hear at least some folks are pushing back on this dangerous nonsense.
Also looking forward to the re-opening of the Belmont branch later this year! @multcolib.bsky.social

Note that by using roofed warehouses the events inside will be quite hard to monitor. I do not trust ICE/DHS (or their private contractor buddies) to run these facilities.
Well you and about 14 others think just the same!
If our guy does it, there is surely a good reason, plus it shows just how tough and strong we are. Amiright?
As another damn war gets started, just wanted to say I enjoyed your Bookforum piece on Catch-22 & Heller. Timely, to say the least.
And the POTUS is unhappy. Boo hoo.
Warehouses full of people who don't get due process are concentration camps, full stops.
