This is incorrect, because ages ago we developed methods to store energy, called batteries. Energy prices are set by the price of gas - that is why they are so high.
Is this a "thought for the day", or was it spurred by something in particular?
Oh, just the business vehicle of Nigel Farage masquerading as a political party breaching its obligations at Companies House.

Dear Shabana, I notice today that you referred to me in your speech on immigration at the IPPR think tank. You said: βA party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to make a perilous crossing on small boats.β I suppose I shouldnβt be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division. When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney. As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I filled water tanks and picked up litter. What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country. Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it. It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and croissants to refugees and food parcels. When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. She said βwe have to work with our European partners and create new, safe, and legal routes for refugees to get to Europe. We cannot abandon them to their fate, left as prey for smugglers whilst risking death on the seas.β She said βmaybe we can make ourselves feel better by saying no-one is making them get on the boats. And again, the Home Secretary is not entirely wrong when β¦
Dear Shabana,
Let's clear some things up around migration and remember we're talking about people's lives.

Ooo look it's me in February's The Week Junior!
A lot of people say AI isn't very good for the world and its outputs are routinely unreliable, but these haters fail to see how it's revolutionizing how we incinerate schoolchildren.
It looks quite joyful

Not receiving consent and moving forward anyway is a consistent theme in his life β as E. Jean Carroll can attest
This explains why i got an email from @fossilrob.bsky.social containing only the words "fossil butthole!!'" earlier
Iβll have some of that.
I imagine I will get another formal reprimand for breaching our social media policy for this as well.
If itβs true Reform UKβs Treasury spokesperson Robert Jenrick told a business audience last night that renewable companies are "screwed" if Reform get in, it tells you everything about their readiness to inflict national self-harm in pursuit of ideological war on climate action.
I had a really interesting and inspiring day @unibirmingham.bsky.social 's Earth Heritage Network event. So nice to see friends and colleagues and hear about their work in this area. Thanks Kirsty, @richardjbutler.bsky.social and Faye for launching this initiative!

Here we go again, global conflict triggers global fossil fuel market fears - off goes the price of oil and gas and of green electricity because we allow it.
Labour have failed to break the link - we are about to pay the price for that, again - through our energy bills.

Abysmal, immoral, cruel, small hearted, tiny minded, ineffective, undemocratic, and just generally utterly indecent. What a bitter godforesaken disappointment these people are.

Even if you don't believe in human induced climate change, presumably you are supportive of an energy source that never runs out, and is therefore cheaper, no?
Net zero sources provided near 2/3 of the UK's energy in Jan 2026. Why would we go back to hydrocarbons, which are expensive to extract and increasingly so because they are running out? share.google/YDQbKQkPkLwX...
Well thanks Larcombe & Bierwirth. Not only do we have to stress over our kids living in a future where large chunks of land will be under water and southern England will have the climate of northern Norway due to AMOC stoppage, THE ATMOSPHERE WILL ALSO BE TOXIC.

Good grief. Iβm not sure sheβs thought this through. Unless, of course, she actively *wants* allies & enemies to believe that she would happily order the British military to commit war crimes.

Reform are not the Opposition. They have had fewer MPs elected than the Green Party, which had five elected under their banner in this Parliament alone.
STOP. MAINSTREAMING. REFORM.
If the BBC had given them coverage proportional to their actual significance, we would barely know who Farage is.
Know who really needs regime change?
The United States.
Thatβs who.
And nearly 150 years later, despite the numerous complete skeletons, we still don't really know what Iguanodon is due to a lack of modern diagnosis. For the love of God, Belgians, I'm begging you.
