Get well soon!
It was a good day all around!!
I know you are. I was being cheeky! Yay for the grant!
Chris Gallaway from @friendsofmedicare.bsky.social is π― right on this: βWe know this will lead to more pressure on our emergency rooms. But it will also create more gaps in cancer care, more stress for patients.β
I was in ER for 30 hours, meaning an ER bed wasnβt available to another patient.
Thanks @ladyscorcher.bsky.social :) There is always something I can find to advocate for during hospital excursions.
Soβ¦. At what point do I actually think my leg will blow up???
Itβs so uncomfortable I want to cry. Iβm not sure I can wait for 1.5 months before I get relief.
Thanks so much Sherri! Iβm getting a little nervous with the little options available to me after Enhertu. So I have a super teensy tiny favour to askβ¦ can you figure out this breast cancer metastasis process and cure it? Ideally, really soon? In the meantime, Iβm working on β¬οΈ my fat. π
To friends who havenβt read my latest blog: life changes next week. Iβll need your support, love, and encouragement. If local, help with premade meals, housecleaning, etc., DM or send a gift via my website below. New blog post π
Right?!? :(
Mystery solved. Apparently a few months ago, this was cut from the budget. Patients can no longer have access to oncologists-on-call. We must call Health Link (who canβt access them either!), or simply go to ER.
Maybe this is how the kids popsicles got funded again?
@abhealthservices.bsky.social Your Arthur Child Cancer Centre patient information cardβs number doesnβt have a β0β option. The FMC switchboard doesnβt have the oncologists on call list. This is hugely problematic when you have to get urgent advice in the middle of the night.
Yes, the kids are excited. Appt is Thursday to cut & donate hair, then will buzz it off. Then 1st Enhertu infusion 5 days later. Gulp.
Blood clots can affect anyone, but certain factors increase risk, including cancer, hospitalization, surgery, and immobility.
Knowing the risk factors and warning signs of thrombosis can help people seek care earlier.

Check out episode 3 to hear my momβs story of how a car crash, that 2 lives, almost taking hers, and 60+ years of advocating to not to amputate her leg. A recent treatment has had such a positive impact on her quality of life.
Episode 3 tells her story. ππ

Majestic and commanding ruler of the snowy landscape.

Of course my hip will remind me that I had a hip replacement 3.5 years ago, and that that I have enthesopathy virtually everywhere in both hips, going, quads and glutes. Time for some TLC.
Tic tok! Tic tok! Time is running out to donate to life saving cancer research. My kids want to raise $15K to support their Terry Fox School Run. Don't wait and donate today!

RIP @anguspratt.bsky.social The advocacy work you did has moved the needle for cancer patients in Canada. π
