this is what I’ve been saying every time someone complains about this - this slate of age verification laws getting passed all around the place are the true culprits. They’re not good and are not actually solving the problems people think they are.
This realization finally also explained to me why people would ask how I can do x activity with music, or when they’d say they could only do that with classical music or jazz. I was always like but why, the vibe is the important factor, not whether or not the music has lyrics.
It took me so long to realize that so many people listen to music lyrics first. I’m 100% music first, and then if I love the song maybe I’ll learn the words, but it’s totally optional for me.

and we actually rarely get a direct hit from a hurricane. I was there for one of the near misses (Ivan in 2004) and that was one of the most terrifying nights.
