nowadays i often play with 12 chunks render distance + 256 chunks distant horizons LOD distance. Upping the render distance has no use since I play on servers mostly and the default on servers is 10, with many servers lowering it for lag reduction.

I've had it and had to disable the swapfile, iirc you can look in the windows event viewer to see what file is blocking you from shrinking the partition. A quick google search says:
> You should first check the Application Log as indicated (In Event Viewer).
but I cannot verify this right now.
