Saw a quote from someone writing about Bugonia saying it's "one of the most original films of the year." It's literally a remake. Not saying you can't make an old idea fresh with a remake, but it's still a remake. Someone else had the idea first and you based your film on that.

I don't love sewing (don't hate it, I'm just not drawn to it as a hobby), but I must admit I do get satisfaction every time I use my (admittedly very basic) sewing skills to fix something that is otherwise too good to replace just yet.

Mountainhead did not need to be almost 2 hours long. I don't think "too long" is necessarily always a good critique of a movie, but I think the point could have been made in only 90 minutes and been better for it.

Sure, the topics of the book include complicated relationships with a parent, finding one's identity, mental health, and grief. Not always easy topics, but topics kids can relate to, things that lots of kids go through whether you like it or not.

I think the word "fuck" is uttered in the book, but literally every kid in my class was using that word by the time I was 12. I heard it all the time, even if I didn't want to. I still turned out fine.

I don't think there's anything that would disturb a kid so much. Not every kid would be ready for it, but that doesn't mean it isn't appropriate for anyone. There's one panel showing a naked corpse, but I wouldn't call it graphic. I saw nude paintings at art galleries as a child and was fine.

It's kind of ironic that the Alberta government sees Fun Home as inappropriate for kids when much of the story is about Alison Bechdel's childhood and adolescence. I didn't read it until I was an adult, but I don’t think it'd be inappropriate for a teenager at the very least.
