Broadcasters Win Gold at Winter Olympics 2026 Despite some near misses and frustrations, Team GB got its best-ever return at the Winter Olympics 2026. The broadcasters did very well, too. The BBC said it achieved its largest overall audience consumption ever at Milan-Cortina. This was made up of 83 million streams, with more than 44 million hours streamed online via BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and the BBC Sport app.

WSL and FA Cup Sports Media Moans Another weekend, another whinge about commentary on women’s football. I was watching the 10-goal-WSL-thriller between Aston Villa and Spurs on Sunday. The commentary team on Sky Sports+ missed out on some fundamental facts.  It seemed they thought most of the players brought in by Tottenham had come from manager Martin Ho’s former side BK Hacken in Sweden. It’s certainly fair to say that the club has a number of Scandinavian imports, but they come from a variety of clubs.

Sky Leads Rebundling in the UK The great rebundling is underway. Sky announced a new package yesterday. It brings together Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu alongside Sky. That is £20 per worth of streaming apps, included as part of Sky Ultimate TV, from £24 a month. HBO is launching in the UK on 26th February, with Disney+ with ads joining the package in March. Sophia Ahmad, Chief Consumer Officer at Sky, described it as “a new era for Sky and NOW.” She added:
