Most people in software value the wrong things imo.
Don’t try and get it right first time, you probably won’t anyway. Just build it wrong. You’ll find out why it’s wrong later, and then you can set about fixing it.
Therefore make decisions to maximise future optionally. And get good at iterating.

TBH the discussion feels a bit disingenuous as if we would just need to snap our fingers and we have elections. Three months prep time does not sound that much for organizing a proper out-of-order national election for DE and given that we have Christmas mid Feb sounds realistic.
