I am glad people like my work and I'm proud of it but I do think it would be nice to get some actual direction.

It's been a struggle to figure out where that comes from,

But I just... I wish I could be excitable, angry, flustered, sad to the same extremes I see from other people.

Being levelheaded feels like missing out on feeling... It's hard to know if it's apathy or not, or if it's just over processing.

I feel quite strongly that I don't care strongly enough. 🛌

I think the question is "why is showing it important"

Same with using the restroom, eating most meals, sleeping, etc. Those frequently get skipped.

If it's not developing the characters or moving the narrative it's usually fluff. Scott Pilgrim talked about sex a lot without ever showing it.
