I’m really not a fan of “where are the student protesters?” discourse. You probably don’t see as much because university administrators, law-enforcement at all levels, many state govts, and the current federal govt have made it very clear that speech on a college campus is effectively criminalized

University administrations went batshit over the protests in 2023, and now students who may be inclined towards activism have reasonable suspicion that their administration would work with the government to throw them in jail or removed from the country

might be more of a Nov 2027 goal than 2026 but I'd also like to have some woven tote / market bag options with straps woven from my inkle loom. similarly some dog / fursuit collars but time and energy will be limiting factors.

should also have a good handful of woven pouches stuffed with yarn waste I can scent with some oils that you can use to scent storage / clothes drawers

if I can speed it up I'd consider a few knit-scarves but weaving just goes so much faster it's my focus to try to get multiple things out with. might consider a knitting machine (hand crank circle variety) for hats if I think it's worth it.

hoping to do at least 2 wide scarves / shawls and then a few more typical size scarves. considering knitting matching mittens + hats for at least one or two of these but knitting is something I'm newer to so I'm quite slow.

theeeeen projects beyond that I think are gonna be stuff I hope to stockpile to try to sell or auction for some sort of charity likely end of November to target winter season + Xmas gifts.

to-do is a shawl for my wife and then one for my sister out of stuff I bought already. then I need to look for yarn for one for my finally. and one for dandy

wanted to warp my loom for this weekend but eurhh don't feel like it

Respectfully, eat shit. Those kids were expelled, arrested, and targeted relentlessly by their school administrations with the specific goal of preventing further protest. Eighteen year old kids were held down and maced by campus security, hit point blank with tear gas canisters by riot cops.
