Just saying hi and hope you are able to get some rest. Insomnia sucks!
A distant brown mountain range rises from the immediate valley floor. It is Joshua Tree National Park in California. The trail, a dry, sandy brown creek bed is in the foreground. Beyond, green desert scrub, cactus, and a few Joshua Trees dot the landscape. The mountains rise in the middle of the photo, and the sky has many puffy cumulus clouds creating shadows and breaking up the deep blue sky.
Itβs Mountain Monday! Back once again at Joshua Tree National Park. #JoshuaTreeFan ! I was talking with a friend yesterday about how the Park helps me feel alive, present, and in my body. I long for a hot tub, under the stars, soaking the beautiful aches of an earlier long hike away.
We are approaching HPV Awareness Day (March 4th) so please remember to get your Gardasil shot, if you havenβt already.
Did you know that many men are asymptomatic carriers, can infect the women they sleep with (unknowingly) and give them HPV which causes cervical cancer? You can get vaxxed 2!
Umβ¦ whoever told you that was π―π
Much prefer the MMF; far more fun for all involved. But then again, this boy is decidedly not straight and enjoys all genders and presentations as long as youβre cool π³οΈβππ³οΈββ§οΈ
Four Roses of course and Angels Envy. However, I prefer the technically whiskeys of SirDavis (yes, thatβs BeyoncΓ©βs whiskey), Uncle Nearest, and Stranahanβs Mountain Angel (thatβs my favorite drink straight). Enjoy!
There are times where I need to follow this advice instead of sticking aroundβ¦
Itβs a clear blue sky day with views for miles from the top of a mountain at historic Cherokee Ranch, south of Denver, CO. Various scrubby pine trees grow in the foreground. A large brown and occasionally green with trees valley lays out in the middle of the photo. A thin ribbon of dark blue hazy Rocky Mountains tower off in the distance.
Itβs Mountain Monday! Todayβs view is from historic Cherokee Ranch, located south of Denver, CO. It sits on the top of a mountain and looks across the valley at the towering Rocky Mountains and foothills to the west. Nice views, historic house, good tea to drink. Great place to visit!
Picture of the flag of Poland. It is a white bar on the top half of the flag and a red bar on the bottom half.
Happy PΔ czki Day for all my Polish friends here in Chicago! Such delicious treats served once a year. Happy Mardi Gras to those celebrating, happy lunar new year (year of the horse!), and Ramadan Mubarak to all my Muslim friends. May this be a great year and a great celebration for all π
Wishing you the best and a speedy recovery π
A picture taken in Patagonia, a region of Argentina (and Chile). The picture was taken at the shore of Lake Viedma, a light green colored lake due to the glaciers nearby. There are bushes that frame the bottom of the photo. In the middle of the photo, snow covered mountains are seen. The big mountain on the left is Cerro Torre, and Mount Fitz Roy can be seen just to the right. Other mountains can be seen in the distance on the right. The sky is mostly clear, with only a few clouds over the mountains.
Itβs Mountain Monday! Feeling inspired by Christoph @beautysurroundsyou.com and his post of Mount Fitz Roy in Argentina this morning. Hereβs mine from years ago when I stood on the bank of Lake Viedma and could see it in the distance (center left of photo). Patagonia is magical and a joy to visit!
In a spectacle of nature's infinite power, glorious Mount Fitz Roy, battered by furious winds, emerges from the clouds. Patagonia's mountains can be hidden for days, but when they clear, the beauty is endless!

Welcome! Soooo excited to see you here π. I might finally be able to delete my presence on the other hell site nowβ¦
I love this for you and how youβve set guidelines that work best for you. Absolutely love these anonymous names. Quite a privilege for them to be recognized!
β€οΈ the lighting and the setup! Need to save some $ for a trip to Seattle π. Itβs been a long time since Iβve been to the PNW, and this just adds another reason to go π₯΅. Great job!
OMG! Iβm so sorry that happened to you, and I hope you are doing better. Iβve heard of delayed issues with antibiotic, and Iβm allergic to some antibiotics too. However, I didnβt know about these. Thanks for the warning and feel better soon!
Iβve never been to Spain, and one day I hope to visit. Iβve had other cities on my list (Seville, Ronda, of course Madrid and Barcelona), but didnβt know much about Valencia. Your pics are doing a good job promoting the cityπ. Thanks for sharing!
A picture from Kerry Park in Seattle with a view of downtown Seattle high rises, the iconic Space Needle, and snow-covered Mount Rainier rises in the background. The sky is a rare for Seattle crystal clear blue.
Itβs Mountain Monday! In honor of the Seahawks big win last night, todayβs view features the iconic Seattle view from Kerry Park with the Space Needle and Mount Rainier. Was such a gorgeous summer day there when I took this pic. And loved Bad Bunny last night! Congratulations Seattle!
Iβm sorry Talia π
Love aviation and wanted to be a commercial pilot growing up. Even wrote to Herb Kelleher (and got a response!). Unfortunately, it wasnβt meant to be. So now I enjoy looking out the window of my economy seat and salute those who pursued their dreams. Look forward to your posts!
This picture is taken from a plane leaving Seattle, Washington. The view looks toward the south, with the forested Cascade Mountains in the foreground. Because of the distance and light, the mountains have a pale blue glow. Snow covered Mount Rainier rises in the middle of the picture. Off to the right in the far distance, Mount St. Helens is visible and off to the left Mount Adams (both snow covered as well) is visible. The sky is a crystal clear blue.
Itβs Mountain Monday! Todayβs view is taken from a plane leaving Seattle several years ago. Looking off to the south, you can see Mount Rainier most prominently in the center. If you zoom in, Mount St. Helenβs is off to the right horizon and Mount Adams is off to the left. May your skies be clear!
True. Thereβs typically always a good place to eat and something interesting in every place, even the smallest towns. If you ever find yourself in Chicago and need recommendations, always happy to promote the great sights in this city to others!
Wow, thatβs definitely a fair number. 216 hours on one airline. Hope some of those hours were to fun locations and it wasnβt just all work.
Iβm a fan of Jalama Beach. Itβs about 1 hour from Santa Barbara and south of Lompoc. Secluded beach with a general store and a grill. Costs $10 for day use and parking can be hard to get. However, you can walk the beach and not have people or buildings in sight. Just you, the cliffs, and ocean π
A picture of the marina in Cassis, France on the Mediterranean Sea taken at dusk. In the foreground, you see jet skis, docks, and boats floating in the calm water. Surrounding the marina, the old town rises with shops, apartments, and condos. Some mountains rise in the distance behind the town. The sky is dusky with high thin, cirrus clouds.
Hope you have the best time on the French Mediterranean. Iβve only been to Cassis (near Marseille), and Iβd highly recommend that small, picturesque town for a day or two if you have time and never been. Thank you for sharing your travels with us. Enjoy!
A copy of the cover of the book We All Have Parts by Colleen West. The cover features an illustration of a woman looking at a mirror of her younger, child self looking back at her.
I really liked the illustrated IFS book βWe All Have Partsβ by Colleen West. Itβs helped me understand the process better. No mention of Burning Man there π
You know, the first peaks of green plants awakening in spring, the green of St. Patrickβs Day, warmer days, and other good things have me eager for March and this spring. I feel like good moments are ahead, if we can get through this cold winter. Hope you are doing well!
I visited Cuba before the pandemic. I loved the people I met! Havana felt alive with music (belowπ), art, and kindness! I didnβt have a great experience with government officials, so not sure Iβd return. However, I wish the best for the Cuban people, and this story is sadπ. I hope tourists return π
Interestingly, my few have all been extremely memorable π₯΅ for me as well. Glad youβve had some good fortune too!
