A little process video to show what I had been up to with the Epic Door (lantern)
Door Functionality and with the final posted under
I've still got a lot of things to do but I have a good idea of what I want - I just need to do it nicely haha. I have some blueprints going & one that triggers the sequence as well but there are some things to work out first though so it's not messing up the petal animation. ๐ค
Slowly getting there with the animations but I am happy having got the petal wrapping nicely
Started working on a petal opening up and have worked out how I will be tackling my door design - I am going to use an image plane in Maya to model the simple geometry and repeat it a few times to get an organic and slightly complex look.
I'm still struggling to come with with a concept for a door and I'm still pretty new to modelling so my skills can only go so far but I thought if I can make it out of repeating patterns or shapes then it should be ok... hopefully - so I have vibes and a general look I want to achieve
I made so much to interact with but I was struggling to work out a blueprint for switching cameras or moving the pawn camera - I also tried making a fish eyes lens post processing which working but then I couldn't click on anything D: Ignore my bad navigation skills.....
Not too far off...
*vibes*
Finished the set dressing assignment - I tried playing with sound triggers a little more but got a tad confused so i wasn't able to get that done as much as I wanted but overall pretty happy with how it turned out!
Dev Log Update 02:
No photos as I have been struggling with even just painting the environment. I keep going back to the class slides & recordings but I just feel completely lost. I will add more updates to this as I go, I am starting from scratch as everything feels all over the place & confusing
Week_1 Dev Log:
I started by putting together a mood board and getting a rough sketch together so I could have a better idea of what i was wanting. I want to try and get a very southern gothic lovecraft look. I have also start blocking out my environment and using some free assets.
