Jackson LaCombe was always more than deserving to make the Olympic team. He's an incredible two-way defenceman outperforming some tough minutes for Anaheim.
This will add even more puck-moving and smart shutdown prowess to USA's blueline.

6.95M is almost exactly what we predicted on a 7 year extension for Josh Doan. The term is very surprising though.
It projects to be a great contract for Buffalo as Doan is already worth 7M with his play this season, and should sustain it as the cap grows.

Kiefer Sherwood is a nice power forward who thrives as a disruptor off-puck and goal scorer with it. He's excellent at recovering pucks on the forecheck, helping his D on counter-attacks, can play the PK, and provides individual shot creation & finishing for some good scoring depth.

Rasmus Andersson is having a great bounceback season, posing as a dangerous dual-threat on offence and good two-way skills in transition.
Zach Whitecloud is a good defensive #4/5. More offensive time open for Parekh now, but there remains a logjam at D in Calgary.

Carter Hart has 0 steals and 5 chokes this season on a 5-3-3 record. This means that with how the Vegas skaters played in those games, they were expected to go 10-0-1.

Per lb-hockey.com, the Ottawa Senators are last in the league in Stolen Games by their goalies with just 1.
They are also second last in their goalie Steals-to-Chokes differential with -9, aka nine more chokes than steals this season (last is VGK with -10, third last is UTA with -6).
With a 4-point night yesterday, Mark Scheifele is on pace for a 40G 100PTS season proving himself as one of the most dynamic offensive catalysts in the league.

LB-Hockey made it onto the Sharks broadcast during today's game!
Friedman reporting that Canada is projected to bring back the same 8 dmen from the 4 Nations tournament.
If that holds, it'll be a crazy decision by Canada to leave their 2nd best defenceman at home.

Even ignoring Robertson's stellar overall play and production this season, the argument that the USA should bring more "hard-nosed" guys over him falls flat.
Robo thrives in contested areas and often succeeds in various situations when pressured.
π lb-hockey.com
Another maybe on the outs due to "soft play" is Adam Fox. Sure his 4Nations wasn't great, but that's a four-game sample in a sea of elite games.
He denies entries constantly, easily breaks pucks out when pressured, and the opposition gets very few chances around his crease.

Great deal by TBL to lock in Moser now.
Sure the points pace is similar to past years, but his play-driving impact has been unreal in 2025. Tag on his blossoming shooting & passing skills and you've got a likely production breakout incoming. Could this be the new Forsling contract?

Ottawa losing Pinto for a decent period of time is a tough blow. He's obviously been one of the most efficient scorers this year, but the defensive suppression has been excellent too. Made one of the best 3rd lines in the league with Amadio & Giroux.

Are we seeing a return of 2022-23 Dylan Cozens?
Our shooting and passing metrics on him have bounced back to his peak that season. And for the first time ever, his defensive suppression is no longer poor, even going up to league average now! On pace to hit 30G & 60PTS again too π

Shane Pinto has had an excellent start to the season. Not only has his scoring game taken a nice step with a 40G 71PTS pace currently, but the defensive zone play has continued to spike π

I've been longing for a Chabot-Spence pair ever since we traded for him.
For the lb-hockey.com Sens Season Preview piece before the season began, I wrote about how both dmen's offensive profiles could complement each other very well thanks to their tendencies when moving the puck βοΈ
Little viz update, we've added the average surplus for every prediction in our Contract Projector, so now you can better evaluate how good or bad those new extensions would pan out.

This might be the most impressive card in our dataset so far for 2025-26. Leo Carlsson is on an absolute mission this season, as he has not only racked up 5G 13A in 12GP, but doing so while posting elite numbers in every single facet of the game.
