No house move before Christmas. It’s proved too difficult to get the chain all in place to exchange this week.

Hoping that the upcoming week is the week that solicitors get their shit together and we can exchange on the house we’re buying.

Getting in for Christmas is becoming tighter

I assume that Ocado’s servers are set to UTC - which is good.

But it also means that since their big s/w upgrade, we’ve been getting SMS about our orders an hour after the shopping has been delivered.

Ah well, only another month and they can close the ticket as “cannot replicate”.

We’ve spent the last decade (or even more) getting people to think more holistically about productivity and impact, and then AI comes along and suddenly SLOC and PR count are hot metrics.

I’ve been doing some more coding with Claude Code this afternoon. Hit my Pro limits in 2 hours - and in the middle of a refactor.

Taking a quick lunch break in a day full of chores. Not liking past Steve too much today as I battle through all the jobs I’ve put off in 30c heat.

I find it very interesting that we decided LOC was a bad metric for measuring developer performance right up until the point that AI started churning out code.

The code generated by LLM coders is so, so.

But it’s good enough for personal apps. I’m building more and mor “helper” and one person apps using Cursor.

I have the misfortune of having to use #Office365 and OneDrive regularly. The office web experience now defaults to a LLM Chatbot interface, rather than bringing me to my files and applications. What the heck?

Microsoft CEO says up to 30% of the company's code was written by AI | TechCrunch Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that 20%-30% of code inside the company's repositories is "written by software," meaning AI.

Except he didn’t actually say AI, he said Software. Code generators have been around for years to support development.

And “up to”? 🤔

It’s almost like he runs a co that has a player in the code generation market (GH Copilot) that he needs to sell.
