I guess what I really would love for GL on screen is a straight adaptation of Far Sector.

I watched that Lanterns trailer and I gotta say I'm not really impressed. I might watch it because it's Hal and John but at the same time, the trailer didn't give me the big cosmic sci-fi vibes that I loved from the comics. But also I'm trying to be on board with what Gunn's doing with DC on screen.
Nary a "fucks like a tiger" in sight.
Everyone should read Far Sector.
Far Sector is one of the greatest GL stories ever told. Just phenomenal start to finish. Campbell's art is absolutely *insane*. I have secondhand joy just knowing someone else is reading this for the first time. I'm so happy for you.
Takarazuka vibes.
Publishers shutting down live service games after a month or two is the new “network TV cancelling a sci-fi show after airing 4 episodes.”
No time to breathe. No time to become what it ought to be. Just not enough money coming in fast enough.
*dungeons.”
Someone mentioned Criterion Dungeons from #FFXIV and my brain, which wasn’t played a lot of FFXIV lately, thought “oh, like the Criterion Collection for dungeons.
What dungeons are you putting in there? I’ll start with Mt. Gulg.
Man of Steel.

Update: the boy loves Encanto now, which is also a masterpiece. I’m a die-hard Menken guy when it comes to Disney and LMM is the successor for sure, not the Frozen folks. The cohesiveness of both Moana and Encanto is something the Frozens sorely lack.
I need to buy that one shirt that says, “Undiagnosed but I’m pretty sure.” I love that it’s vague enough to be about anything but also you know what it’s about.
I know so many people with ADHD that I'm starting to think that that's typical and people who can actually focus on shit are the outliers.
This message goes out to the guys who need to hear it: you are not special or better than other people because you choose to drink your coffee black. No cream? No sugar? Nobody gives a shit. Drink your bean-water without the sanctimony.
As dire and gloomy as D4 is, I appreciate the general consistency in tone. Nary an instance of some dumb slapstick subversion of expectations.
To be clear, I love Diablo 3. But Diablo 3’s biggest failing is that it’s goofy as hell. There are so many instances of it just not taking itself seriously. A lot of the time it felt like that devs were taking the piss.
No Warlock for #Diablo 3, huh? I guess it’s fine, we’d probably end up with a guy wearing clown makeup or something.
Shocking how good that controller feels. I grabbed a purple one.

What could I possibly do to get people to actively use the OCR forums again? Is it sigs? Should re-enable signatures? Should we go all in on forum signature culture again?
IS JUNE STILL BOSS MONTH?

Played some actual Star Fox 64 on the Analogue 3D today. Wild how well that game holds up.
I have not bitten the bullet yet and gotten Nightreign but literally any time I see artwork of Recluse or Revenant I’m like “…pretty…” and the mouse hovers over the Buy button. Like put a pretty lady in a game and I’m 85% sold on it.
If you didn't make CT, you don't get to call the game you did make a "successor," spiritual or otherwise. That's for everyone else to decide. The most you can say is that CT inspired you and that you made a tribute. Successors take up the mantle; no game is replacing CT as the gold-standard.
