Just had someone in a presentation at work say that using co-pilot sped up their feature delivery time by 50%.
And then when they went to demonstrate their feature it immediately didn't work. Imagine that.
God this all looks so sick. Very keen to play the demo when it's released! Good luck at GDC!
Cinematic Parallels
At this point it’s basically up to independent media for any halfway decent representation.
It either gets focus grouped out of existence or its inclusion is so minor it can be cut from a release in less progressive markets.
readers, are you fortunate/unfortunate enough to go to GDC next week? from March 11th-13th (Wed-Fri) there will be a demo for my first #aLtProject RPG - D████ T█████████: aLt-ESC███████!
A "New-Type" Card x Command ATB RPG inspired by Megami Tensei & SaGa.

Yeah I was planning on having items that boost stats and provide other benefits (like vitamins in Pokemon). Piper also will be out of the party at times in the final game so healing items will be a necessity then!
so is slay the spire 2 gonna be the game that finally ends all the "godot has potential but idk if it's ready for commercial use yet" posts or are people gonna continue to be in denial
My first Slay the Spire 2 run went about 10 times better than any run I ever had in Slay the Spire 1.
Game very fun
I also did a very rough pass on the rest of the UI just replacing all the default Godot transparent panels with something I whipped up quickly. It'll definitely get another pass to polish it but it's looking a lot more like a real game now.
(The big render of Claire is also a placeholder obvs)
Claire can now eat lunch. That's all for today.
(That said healing items are a bit irrelevant while Piper is in the party but it's the thought that counts)

Added weapons and armor with the ability to swap them with a suitable item in your inventory. Stat and Affinity changes are displayed in the status menu with nice little coloured highlights like in SMT 4.
(and yes once again the ux is still wip 🫠)

Steam community requesting additional body types for added immersion.
A large block of sentient tofu
Steam community: “Can we play as a male character?”
Me (indie dev in this economy):
“Best I can do is sentient tofu.”
The vibes continue to be immaculate
Made some updates to Piper's Cleric abilities tonight. You can now pick a known (or partially known) psalm from a list to get a guide of which notes to play.
Still some UX to iron out (ignore that I'm mixing PS5 and PC button prompts 🫠) but it's getting there!

Adding some settings and some friends said I should add an option to render the game at full resolution. I have no idea why you'd want to do that as it makes the game look like a lazy HD Remaster, but it's there now if anyone wants it.
God I hate that it smooths the font.

A friend asked me what's the best place to buy my game to support me. I told them it didn't matter, and they said they wanted to make sure their support was the most it could be.
So here's a 100% guide to supporting me and my game.
(a thread!)
At work we recently had a directive to migrate our entire codebase of 20+ years to GitHub and I didn’t really get why until I got 6 pull requests from copilot immediately after pushing my first repo there.
It’s real bad. Never touching that shit even if they make me.
Pokemon try not to involve Tobyfox challenge (impossible)
...for the overworld. Battles and cutscenes will still have animated cameras where appropriate.
This actually solves a number of other issues I was having (and it's more "correct" to the era of RPGs I'm drawing from) so I'm pretty happy with the change.
One of my friends mentioned that the smooth lerp on the camera combined with the low-res aliased art style was giving him some motion sickness and after some consideration I've decided to (mostly) ditch the lerping cameras and just go with tried and true fixed angles.

Okay they got through it without any other issues and really liked it yahoo
They immediately found softlocks lmao.
Just sent my first build out to friends. One of them does QA for a living so I'm a bit nervous lmao.
👀
Also no one really ran into any bugs other than one door trigger that was in the wrong spot which was surprising!
I had some friends play Solaire for the first time (since it was more than just one battle) last night!
Feedback was good, they liked the combat, thought the battle music was catchy.
One of them managed to get the first boss into the least fun state imaginable.
...I fixed that straight away >_>
