oh god i havent seen these two in years

i think i just lost my refuge in drawing! there was "work," sure, but then i started drawing nota and relieved a lot of stress in oc junk and hornier art. then promoting my oc and drawing horny art became my job???

my hope is that a real hiatus-- not one where im just recharging for "work"-- fixes me this time. i labored under a lot of preconceived notions that've become internal expectations; i kinda hate that i started to bully myself out of drawing suggestive/18+ stuff! but also, i got bored of it lmao

going to pass this around once again because i wanna return to it when i feel like drawing again. i will earnestly consider every submission someone puts in it, do not be shy, and make sure to give me variety. nancy does so love diverse ensemble casts!

juggling school and commissions while running on survival mode for that long just finally caught up to me i think. i'll spend some time not making art, then trying to understand what i like about drawing, and then trying to have fun doing it again. in the meantime i wanna do something else.

that being said, i've made some of my favorite stuff in a long time this term. i think if i wasn't literally on the verge of a breakdown for the last 10 weeks, i'd be happier about it, more focused. i definitely at least managed to recenter myself and my goals, i feel like im back on the path.

i just do not think i want this degree that badly man! like im on an unofficial hiatus now ig. i dont wanna draw anything for a bit, definitely nothing i feel like i have an obligation to. i've realized i've got a really unhealthy relationship to art and its lowkey been killing me lmao

Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM

my toxic trait is that I absolutely judge other people's game 3x3/top 25s etc and while I keep most of those thoughts to myself, I will say the fact some of you put gacha games on yours without fear of public shaming is a massive failing of our culture

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
