Some more screenshots. Finally figured out an easy way to do moss in this style. It really helps for some reason. Maybe there's a visual element with making paths that helps make things look better.

Made some signs and log tunnels (that act as doorways). I think they turned out alright, but I've gotten feedback from some older demos that the old door were hard to see & know were doorways.
Hopefully this isn't a repeat πŸ˜…

Been doing a lot of UI related stuff. Save file info, loading screens, and button input hints. The hints change based on state and the button icons change based on most recent form of input (gamepad or mouse & keyboard).

New options menu. This took a while, but it now recognizes different controllers and show appropriate buttons for most recent input type, plus button remapping.

Quick update, still kinda junky, but I put in a to show where an item will be dropped. The arrows turn yellow when you'd drop an item on relevant tile.

Post a game you remember playing but nobody else remembers.

The grind in this game could give WoW a run for it's money. But being able to evolve your little dino mutants was super bad ass. Weird ass game. Super cool.

It's been awhile. Yikes. Holiday season kinda crushed my momentum.

Back at it with enemy projectiles that ricochet off stuff and slide a bit when landing. Works okay, could use some visual tweaks.

Heavy footsteps of a jailer patrolling through what will end up bring a prison in-game. They're pretty lazy though, so they're not a threat.

Also there's now different dialogue if you've already spoken to them once before.

It might look dangerous, but this NPC is just a simple merchant.

Each merchant is obsessed with a specific kind of item and will trade said item for a specific item in their hoard.

Implemented a dialogue system. Visually it's still very much a work in progress, but it works well.

Looking forward to making more non-hostile NPCs.

Still experimenting with Pre-rendered backgrounds.
Added some props.

Some props look great, others look too static, that might just be me rushing on the 3d model.

Lighting looks pretty good though.

Testing out pre-rendered backgrounds. Not sure if this is the way to go, but it was pretty simple to build out this small level.

There's definitely drawbacks, but it does look pretty.
