Do we get M5 Max benchmarks only after they are in store?
What did y'all do with your review devices?? *shakes fist at journalists*
@simon Just learned about Showboat from your recent post!
WDYT about taking it a step farther? You've build a literate programming environment -- almost.
With the Markdown Babel convention we're pitching and rolling out to apps, you get user-interactive results, too […]
"This Go tool can be installed directly from PyPi"
Wait, why does the Python thingie install Go thingies now?

Oh man. I mean there's another war now and people die. But in our bubble this is also a shitty move to DDoS a git forge
In 2026, you don't have to read the news to know that there's a war going on…

@Mehrad tell https://chaos.social/@kramo/116155746030521154 :)
@denis 'nanoc view' works fine btw
@denis Is it my config or has something in nanoc/nanoc-live changed with recent updates that makes adsf live server fail?
no acceptor (port is in use or requires root privileges)
I've tried all the ports! :O
Tagging a note about #Emacs, I was inclined to add #customization -- but then second-guessed myself. Because isn't that the same extent as the other tag?

The tool chest is almost complete!
Typical "Unit tests without integration tests" situation -- since installing the small 'box' in the left, I can't fit my saws underneath anymore.
Argh.

@ttscoff mdtosendy doesn't say what happens with Plain Text email variants. Do you know? :)
Where are the M5 Max compilation and inference engine benchmarks compared to M1 Max!!
@nighthawk maybe I should also try that for over-the-air delivery.
MTP is essentially a very flaky USB file transfer solution.
Sometimes I turn my USB-C cables to make the device detectable.
Well well well
if this isn't an #mtp app for #macos that natively browses my #Supernote eink tablet for file transfer!
😎
Does anyone have a recommendation for a graphical, structured XML editor with an outline view?
macOS-wise, just a file-loader that shows an outline view and whatever's an attribute stays an attribute, whatever's a sub-element stays a sub element.
Asking for a friend (really!!!)
I didn't know about compiling the toolchain with/without 'assertions'; I don't really want to ship apps without assertions that crash the open source compiler, I believe? That sounds unsafe :)
So is the #Xcode #Swiftlang toolchain an actual _fork_ of the open source Swift toolchain?
Because no matter how hard I've tried (semi-hard!!), a SILGen crash in the Swift compiler via mise/swiftly/... does not happen when using the Swift compiler that ships with Xcode!
It would suck ass if […]
@pkal Fyi the 'viewquakes' link is broken :O
Wait it's the last day of February?
Modern CSS is just lovely. Theme switcher with a single <html> data attribute to ideate on variations during prototyping, nice color spaces and maths, layouts and smooth animation and even transitions. Love it.

I don't understand the 'nonisolated(nonsending) Sendable' closure keyword/annotation sequence
I'm looking at images of the Shift key and with that broad variety of the word's typography, it now looks like it's written in a wrong way.
Whatever this AI stuff brings to the world, it's not "clear communication on generated websites" (assuming LLM's were involved in this website)
What's a "GTM AI"?
Jargon filled landing pages were the plaque of my internetting years ago, and it still is.
@sacha my carnival entry: https://christiantietze.de/posts/2026/02/complete-feedback-loop-in-emacs/
SE-0449 allowing `nonisolated` to essentially opt out of global actor inheritance is a really beautiful addition. Without it, I don't know how people swifted before.

We seem to have largely stopped innovating on trying to lower barriers to programming in favour of creating endless new frameworks and libraries for a vanishingly small number of near-identical languages. It is the mid-2020s and people are wringing their hands over Rust as if it was some […]
I will say one thing for generative AI: since these tools function by remixing/translating existing information, that vibe programming is so popular demonstrates a colossal failure on the part of our industry in not making this stuff easier. If a giant ball of statistics can mostly knock up a […]
